The Joestar Group is the tentatively-named group of characters throughout JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The groups are usually nameless but follow similar plans of action. i.e eliminating DIO or protecting Morioh.

History

The Joestar Groups started in 1889 with Jonathan Joestar being aided by his allies, Speedwagon, William A. Zeppeli, Dire, Straits, Tonpetty, & Poco in a effort to deter the incoming threat to mankind, Dio Brando.

50 years later, Jonathan's grandson Joseph, along with his mother Lisa Lisa, Caesar Zeppeli, & nazi major Rudol von Stroheim, engage the creators of the Stone Mask, The Pillar Men.

Another 50 years later, in the mid-1980's, Jotaro Kujo, the grandson of Joseph Joestar, is pulled into stopping the reawakened DIO as his resurrection causes Jotaro's mother to fall into a deadly fever. Jotaro, who has now aquired a Stand called Star Platinum, hunts down DIO in Egypt with help from his grandfather, Mohammed Avdol, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean Pierre Polnareff, & a dog named Iggy.

12 years later, in the year 1999, the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar, Josuke Higashikata with his Crazy Diamond takes it upon himself to protect Morioh from enemy stand users after his grandfather is killed. He is aided by a strange mangaka, Jotaro, & his classmates. They target stand users who uses thier stand to harm others i.e. Akira Otoishi, Angelo, Yoshikage Kira.

Two years later, in 2001, Buccellati's Gang was a former assassination squad of Passione. It's members, which included Dio's son Giorno Giovanna and led by Bruno Buccellati worked under the boss to lure out La Squadra di Esecuzion & eliminate them. Afterwards, they defected after being tricked by the boss to give him his daughter Trish Una so he could kill her.

12 years after Part V, Jotaro's estranged daughter, Jolyne Kujo,  is incarcerated & is in a deadlock against the remnants of DIO, led by his most devout supporter, Enrico Pucci in order to save her father, escape prison & survive. She is helped by her father, Hermes Costello, Foo Fighters (F.F), Weather Report, Anasui, & Emporio Alniño.

In a alternate 1890, Johnny Joestar along with Gyro Zeppeli rides coast to coast to compete in the Steel Ball Run, while racing they discover the Corpse Parts, which improve their abilities greatly. The duo is hunted by many people during the race, including other racers, mercenaries, & even the President of that time.

Similarities

  • The groups are not led by the centered JoJo but rather by a side character:
    • Part I's group was led by Zeppeli initially before his death, all the while he was teaching Jonathan the basic mechanics of the Hamon.
    • Part II's group was led by Lisa Lisa as she trained Joseph & Caesar in order to defeat the Pillar Men.
    • Part III's group was led by Joseph since his experience with combat & his stand leading him the way to DIO.
    • Part IV's group was led by Jotaro as the enemies were very hesitant to fight his nigh-invincible stand.
    • Part V's group was led by Buccellati as his natural leadership skills were essential in the groups survival.
    • Part VI's group was led by Emporio as his creativity & extensive knowledge saved Jolyne & the others many times.
    • Part VII's duo was led by Gyro since he was older & more experienced, while he "taught" Johnny how to use the Spin.
  • With the exception of Parts II & IV, the majority of those in Joestar Groups dies before the end of their stories. with very few carrying over to the next respective part. (i.e. Speedwagon, Joseph, Polnareff, Jotaro).
