Since Araki isn't exactly the most active online user, and never had a questionnare section in any serialisation of the JoJo manga, there are lots of Stands and other things from the ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'' franchise that have unknown origins. Where did the term "[[Stand]]" even come from? Does [[Giorno]] really reference Gang Starr? Guess we'll never know... |

—Hirohiko Araki, probably
Since Araki isn't exactly the most active online user, and never had a questionnare section in any serialisation of the JoJo manga, there are lots of Stands and other things from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise that have unknown origins. Where did the term "Stand" even come from? Does Giorno really reference Gang Starr? Guess we'll never know...
This page is exclusively for speculation directly for Araki's creations. Speculation around anime or game content is not applicable. It must be speculated that Araki himself intended the reference.
Speculations
- Giorno Giovanna's "I'm going to become a Gang-Star" quote could instead be a reference to the former Gang Starr hip hop duo. Both are written as "ギャング・スター" in Japanese,[1] but the "・" could just be to distinct the word from "gangster" ("ギャングスター" in Japanese) for the sake of making a reference to the fact that Giorno is of the Joestar bloodline.
