As you may or may not be aware, I have been using user pages on this Wiki to create my own mini one dedicated to Fist of the North Star, which can be accessed here or by using the tabs located at the top of my user page. I have been been updating the pages for it almost daily and I have even been geniuently considering creating a MediaWiki like this one, but I have no idea how to go about that and I'm not sure if all the templates and css of this one can carry over too (for example the Fire Emblem Wiki, another MediaWiki, doesn't have all the same templates) and re-uploading all the image files might be a pain.

However, now I am forced to take a break for the next 3 to 4 weeks because I'll be going on vacation with my family. During this time I proabaly won't be able to edit at all because I don't like to do it on my phone unless I absolutely have to.

However, starting now I am totally okay with others beggining to edit these pages as if they're actual pages on a Wiki. Of course, I'll still try to monitor the pages when I can though. It'll also be hard to contact me during this time too, so I suspect that this may be a problem. Below is a list of ways that you can help out during this time.

How to Help

Unrelated, but Rei is my favorite character

If you want to contribute to my Wiki you absolutely can! It a little hard for me, just one person, to complete a project like this and I don't mind if you edit my user pages (if editing other's user pages is even possible). I acknowldge that very few people will read this and even less might contribute, but I want to get this out here. Just make sure to follow the policies that already exist for this Wiki and treat them as if they are actual pages. It's a little hard to get official information in English since Viz Media is only just now releasing the manga and the online scans that I am able to find are extremely low quality (not that I condone piracy in any form unless absolutley, positivley nessesary).

Below is a list of things that you can do to help:

Things to Do

General

  • Currently a lot of things are copy and pasted from Hokuto Renkitōza as placeholders, I have been slowly editing them to be in my own words, but it is time consuming. Help with changing this would be greatly appertiated.

Pages

  • Finishing/expanding the "Abilities" sections for the following characters: Kenshiro, Shin, Rei, and Jagi

New Pages

Other Pages

While not as important as the above pages, creating new pages for the following would also be nice:

Images

  • Uploading a potentially better Av for Kenshiro
  • Uploading infobox images for Jagi
  • Uploading new/better infobox images for Raoh

Just for refrence I plan to get a lot of if not all of this done by the time All-Star Battle R comes out on September 2nd, which is also right around the time I have to go back to school.

New FotNS Anime?

This is kinda unrelated, but I want to get this out there. Latley there have been "rumors" (and by "rumors" I mean several discussions on the FotNS Subreddit) about a new manga-accurate anime adaptation of FotNS for the 40th anniversary in 2023. While I think this might be nothing more than wishful thinking, there is some evidence behind this with similar older serieses like Urusei Yatsura also getting rebooted animes and animated NFTs by Masahiko Komino being made for FotNS. But as cool as I think it would be, again there is just too little to prove about the topic at the moment.

Resources

This is a list of resources to use to help with the above tasks, as well as for me to use for future reference:

Fist of the North Star (Wikipedia article)
Hokuto no Ken Official Website (in Japanese)
Hokuto Renkitōza (Fandom Wiki)
FotNS manga at Viz Media
FotNS anime at Crunchyroll
Legends ReVIVE Official Website (in English)
Leauge of Comic Geeks (has decent enough scans for original FotNS manga volume covers)
Jump Database (has high-quality scans for FotNS related Jump magazine covers)
Tim Eldred FotNS Manga (Information about the manga releases)
