Custom 2I don't dislike the idea of fate as a concept. The idea that there is some grander purpose to everyone's own success and suffering is a reassuring one. The problem is that that is all fate is in practice: reassuring.
Custom 3Fate is a placebo, an illusion. A coping mechanism, even. Fate exists for the sole purpose of downplaying your own responsibility. You could die penniless in a back alley and convince yourself it was meant to happen.
Custom 4And even in JoJo, where everyone assumes fate exists and favors justice, one has to ask why fate would choose to, say, kill off the entire group of protagonists in Stone Ocean. The answer: fate is an excuse. Blame Araki himself.
