UJ PRESS (ウルジャンPRESS, Urjan PRESS) was a series of promotional materials created in order to promote Ultra Jump magazine issues monthly.

Summary

Example of a UJ PRESS flyer

UJ PRESS first started when Ultra Jump became a monthly publication in 1999. It was mainly sent to cooperating bookstores by fax and showcases the featured works in the current issue of Ultra Jump at the store.[1][2] The unique aspect of these promotional flyers was that they featured original illustrations and/or comments from manga artists with serializing works in Ultra Jump. Multiple flyers for the same issue would be sent out with illustrations from different artists. UJ PRESS would also be featured with the Ultra Jump issues on the official website.[1] It appears to have been silently discontinued, with the April 2021 issue being the last to have it be done for.[3]

Hirohiko Araki has contributed many times with both original illustrations and/or comments from him, primiarily due to the serializations of Steel Ball Run and JoJolion in Ultra Jump. A selection of his illustrations for UJ PRESS have also been compiled in booklets packaged with certain Ultra Jump issues.
