Ep 1

It is the 28th of October, 5:35 P.M. Standing in a rainstorm, a young woman beside a car is seen staring at the corpse of a man. She is shown to have a tattoo of a butterfly on her left arm.

In a holding room, various female prisoners are seen in different cells. One particular prisoner, a woman with braided hair, is annoyed by the noise of another prisoner. This prisoner is revealed to be Jolyne, who is banging her head against her cot out of embarrassment for getting caught masturbating by a guard. Jolyne says she will never masturbate again, and would wager a large sum of money on it with the others in the room. One of the other prisoners responds mockingly, asking how anyone could be held accountable in said bet. Jolyne replies, "If I were to say that I could tell... by the join of your left ring finger... would you believe me?" Just before Jolyne and the woman with braided hair are transferred to prison, Jolyne asks the woman "If I said I was 'framed'... would you believe me?"

Jolyne is informed by her lawyer that she has been arranged to go to Green Dolphin Street Prison to receive her punishment for her crime. The lawyer also brought essentials for Jolyne's use, with a shiny amulet from her father among them. After opening the amulet, Jolyne cuts her finger with a chipped stone stored inside the amulet. Jolyne states that her father had never been there for her, and that it would be useless to contact him. On a photo inside the amulet, an image of her father wearing a cap and white clothing along with her mother is shown. She throws the amulet away and it drops into a drain.

Her full name is revealed by her lawyer to be Jolyne Cujoh.

Later, on the 6th of November 2011, Jolyne talks with the same woman with braided hair, in a vehicle heading to Green Dolphin Street Prison. She introduces herself as Ermes Costello, and informs Jolyne that she will need to have money in the prison. Jolyne manages to guess where Ermes is hiding her own money: a surgically added hole in her left breast.

After Jolyne exits the vehicle, she hears a conversation, although no one is speaking nearby. As she is listening to the conversation, she discovers a string coming out of her injured finger. The string leads back to the truck she was on, and the conversation she was hearing is revealed to be Ermes being threatened by the guards. Using the string, Jolyne manages to stop a guard from striking Ermes by cutting the guard's ear off, and steals some money with the same string.

Jolyne rides in a car with her boyfriend, Romeo, during a rainy October evening. To Romeo's dismay, Jolyne acts overly affectionate towards him. Romeo says that there are rumors Jolyne used to be part of a biker gang, and asks if it's true. She replies that she would never commit theft, and that her tattoo is a souvenir from a vacation.

The two move to kiss, but a body crashes into Romeo's windshield. The car veers off to the side of the road, its passengers frightened. Jolyne looks back, and sees a corpse hanging from a tree. She begins to call an ambulance, but Romeo stops her. Fearing that their futures are at stake, he convinces her that they must hide the body, as the rain will wash away the evidence. They put the corpse in the trunk and drive away.

A few days later, Jolyne is arrested for homicide. She is interrogated, the cops believing her to be the driver. Another few days pass by, with Jolyne now at Green Dolphin Street Prison, consulting with her lawyer. Her lawyer tells her that Romeo reported the car was stolen, and that Jolyne was suspected of stealing the car and hitting a civilian while drunk. The lawyer asks if Romeo was the actual driver, to which Jolyne replies that she cannot say.

The lawyer states that if she freely admits to the crime, some charges will be dropped and she will only receive a one-to-two year sentence. Jolyne refuses, holding on to the idea that she is innocent. However, in court, she accepts the terms of the bargain, and pleads guilty to all charges. It is then revealed her lawyer had deceived her. Since she had hidden the corpse, the plea bargain is invalid and she is sentenced to fifteen years at Green Dolphin Street Prison. The lawyer talks with Romeo outside the courtroom, revealing their scheme to frame Jolyne for the crime.

Having been betrayed by her lawyer, Jolyne has been sentenced to fifteen years at Green Dolphin Street Prison. On her way to her cell in a straitjacket, Jolyne falls over and begins unraveling into string. She realizes that she can control this string, and that no one else can see it. The guards take off her straitjacket and order her to get up. They take her to the level four maximum security prison, where she will spend her sentence, and assign her the prisoner number FE40536.

Jolyne is then instructed to strip for an inspection. Once naked, she mocks the guards by posing suggestively, earning the respect of Ermes, who is watching nearby. During the inspection, Jolyne spots her lawyer in the prison, who is there to hand over some papers. He feigns being respectable and noble while speaking with one of the guards. The guard hands him a note from Jolyne, reading "Pass this to him: Are you feeling safe and comfortable now? This is not over yet. I'll get back to you, sooner or later." Jolyne swears that she will escape prison and enact her revenge.

In his car, the lawyer turns on the air conditioning, causing strings to come out of the fans and strangle him. His car crashes into the railway, killing him. Elsewhere in the prison, an unidentified prisoner carries the pendant Jolyne had received from her father.

Ep 2

Continuing the entrance inspection, a barber begins shaving Jolyne's head. Deeply distressed by the thought of losing her hair, she pays the barber thirty dollars in order to keep it intact. She then lines up with the other new inmates to be greeted by Loccobarocco, the prison manager. His alligator puppet, Charlotte, explains that Green Dolphin Street Prison believes prisoners should still be allowed basic human rights and are allowed various freedoms. She explains that the prisoners are not allowed metallic objects, such as pens or earrings.

After the orientation, the prisoners are directed to their cells. On her way, Jolyne uses her ability to steal a pen from Loccobarocco. Jolyne is taken to her cell, where she meets her cellmate Gwess. The two introduce themselves, but when Jolyne puts her stuff on the bottom bunk, Gwess attacks her, claiming the bunk for herself. Jolyne sees some of Gwess's belongings; among them is the amulet Jolyne received from her father.

Jolyne asks where she got it and if she could look inside. Gwess takes it and says that she might look inside but won't give it back. Jolyne offers to buy it from her, but Gwess says it will cost her two hundred dollars. Jolyne reacts angrily, but is distracted by a bird coming out of Gwess's pocket. From the bird's neck, two tiny human arms grab some crackers from the table in the cell, and retreat into the bird's body.

Jolyne lies in her bed, unable to sleep. She thinks about the amulet from her father, as well as Gwess's parrot that could take off its head and sprout arms. Jolyne opens her eyes to see Gwess staring at her. She is startled, but Gwess apologizes for her behavior the previous night. Gwess hands the pendant over to Jolyne, allowing her to open it, but not to keep it, and tells her there was never anything inside it. Jolyne accepts Gwess's apology, and the two become friends.

Jolyne goes to eat breakfast, but finds out her pants are soaking wet. In the cafeteria, Jolyne finds out that all the food is sold out. The prison allows prisoners to sleep in as late as they want, and as such prisoners who sleep in will miss breakfast. She sees Gwess throw away her trash, and notices that she had two breakfasts. Jolyne figures out that Gwess had gotten her pants wet in order to steal her breakfast. In the trash, Jolyne notices a picture of her parents, the one that was in the amulet.

Elsewhere in the prison, Gwess plays with her pet bird. She commands the bird to say "I love you" and gives it treats when it succeeds. Next, she commands the bird to fly to her finger. The bird successfully jumps to the finger, but angers Gwess when it says "whoa." Gwess scolds the bird, but gets distracted. Jolyne uses her ability to switch the bird out for a banana. Jolyne realizes that her cellmate must have received an ability from the amulet, and examines the bird. When she looks inside the bird, tiny severed limbs of a human fall out.

Jolyne stares in shock at the tiny limbs that fell out of the bird, but notices that Gwess is approaching. She hides behind a corner, deducing that Gwess had gotten an ability from the stone within Jolyne's amulet. As she ponders, Jolyne notices blood pouring from the walls. She also sees the bird's corpse, which is now the same size as her. Jolyne has been greatly reduced in size.

From the corner, the seemingly giant Gwess appears and grabs Jolyne. Gwess returns to her cell and throws Jolyne onto her desk. Gwess tells her that she has grown fond of Jolyne and wants to become good friends. Gwess asks Jolyne to help her escape from the prison. Jolyne asks about the man within the bird, but Gwess scolds her for speaking up, throwing a hollowed out rat corpse at her.

Gwess forces her into the corpse, and begins training her to help Gwess's escape. Gwess places books on Jolyne for her to lift, but Gwess catches her cheating. Gwess is outraged, but quickly switches to praise and she compliments Jolyne's spirit. Jolyne wonders how she will survive this relationship.

Gwess tells Jolyne she's naming her Stand, Goo Goo Dolls. She orders Jolyne, who is wearing the rat corpse, to infiltrate the control center in order to scout for a way to escape from the prison. However, when Jolyne reaches the place indicated, her body begins to grow, suggesting that Gwess's ability weakens the farther the victim is from the user.

Jolyne gets out of the rat corpse and flees towards the main hallway, acknowledging that if she isn't fast enough, she will become too large to escape into the hallway, and will be caught by the guards. Goo Goo Dolls, now appearing as the Stand itself, chases her for leaving the rat corpse.

Jolyne's strings come together to create the full form of her Stand. Her Stand grabs Goo Goo Dolls and squeezes it, demanding that Gwess reveal herself. Gwess appears, wounded from Jolyne crushing her Stand, and uses her power to free Jolyne from the pole she was stuck behind. Jolyne demands her amulet back, as well information as to who Gwess purchased it from.

She informs Jolyne that she bought it from Ermes. When handing it over, Gwess drops the amulet. She uses this chance to punch Jolyne, knocking her past the prison bars, and calls a guard to apprehend her. Jolyne's body is restored to normal size, making her unable to get back through the bars. A prison guard approaches, and sounds the alarm after seeing Jolyne past the gate. Gwess mocks her.

Jolyne's Stand punches Gwess in the face, turning into string to get through the gate. Jolyne decides to name her Stand "Stone Free". Stone Free rapidly punches Gwess in the same way Jolyne's father used to use his Stand to punch enemies. Jolyne commands Gwess to get her through the gate. When the guards return, Jolyne is gone. The guards conclude it was a mistake on the part of the guard who activated the alarm.

Ep 3

Jolyne begins to understand the limitations of her ability. When unraveled into string, Stone Free can travel far, but is weak and easily damaged; when clumped up together, it forms a body with a range of two meters but much better strength. However, it is not strong enough to break through prison bars.

At the prison phones, Jolyne waits to make a call. A prisoner asks her for a dollar to continue her call, and she obliges. When she tries to approach an empty phone, she's knocked back by another prisoner. She's told that the phones are reservation only, and that she will have to wait a month before using one. Gwess approaches her, seeking forgiveness, but Jolyne wants nothing to do with her. Gwess warns her about giving away money, and says that giving away even a dollar is enough to damage Jolyne's reputation.

In the prison library, Jolyne confronts the prisoner for her dollar; the prisoner reacts defensively. After being asked for more money, Jolyne goes to the restroom. It is implied she uses Stone Free to discretely feed the prisoner a crushed coin. The prisoner suddenly develops a bad stomachache, and rushes to the restroom. The prisoner offers to repay Jolyne her dollar for the bathroom, but Jolyne refuses. The prisoner offers to pay her ten dollars, and Jolyne accepts. Jolyne takes the money and helps a timid prisoner get her money back as well. As she walks away, Jolyne spots a baseball roll by, as well as a boy in a Cubs uniform chasing after it. The boy warns her that someone will come to meet her tomorrow, and that she cannot go see him no matter what.

The boy in a Cubs uniform warns Jolyne that if she goes to see a man who's coming to visit her, "something worse than death" will occur. Jolyne looks away for a moment, and the boy disappears. Jolyne shouts for the guards to open the gates, but they beat her hand for hanging onto the bar. Later in the cafeteria, the guard that hit her apologizes, and tells her that she has a visitor.

The guard takes her to the visiting center and explains the rules, telling her to wait there until the visit is ready. Suddenly, the boy who had warned her grabs her arm, reaching from the inside of a trash can. He warns her again not to meet with the visitor. Jolyne is confused, and refuses to heed his warning. Understanding that he won't change her mind, the boy gives her a strange-looking bone, telling her not to let go of it.

Jolyne enters the room with the visitor, and sees a tall man in dark clothing. The man turns around, revealing himself to be Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne's father. Jotaro asks his daughter about the amulet he gave her. Angered at the thought of Jotaro acting like a father, Jolyne knocks the guard unconscious, saying that she'll be sent to solitary confinement, and shouts at Jotaro to leave. Jotaro explains that he has come to break Jolyne out of prison.

A blind male prisoner finishes taking a shower. He mutters to himself, displaying uncanny knowledge of what's happening outside, despite his blindness. As he exits the shower room, a guard informs him of Jotaro Kujo's arrival

In the visiting room, Jolyne tries to wake the guard she knocked out. Jotaro looks at a picture of the blind prisoner, Johngalli A.; he tells his daughter that it was Johngalli who set up the car accident that sent her to prison. He explains that everything, from the thugs who threw the victim in front of the car, to the lawyer that tricked Jolyne into an invalid plea deal was all set up by Johngalli A. After Jolyne takes her frustrations out on the unconscious guard, she then asks why Johngalli would target her.

Jotaro explains that Johngalli A. was a loyal follower of an old enemy of his, and that Johngalli imprisoned Jolyne to get his revenge on the Kujo family. Jotaro can tell that Jolyne had developed a Stand, and tells her to use it to escape the prison. Jolyne tells Jotaro she doesn't consider him a father to her, and says that she won't work with him. She walks towards the door headed back towards the prison, stating that she will escape by herself without Jotaro's help.

Jotaro notices there is a fresh cigarette on the table, but it doesn't match the ones in the guard's pocket. Jolyne, ignoring him, continues to the door. Suddenly, a bullet wounds her chest. Jotaro summons Star Platinum and uses it to stop time. He approaches his daughter, observing that she used Stone Free to create a string net on her chest. The net dispersed the power of the bullet, similar to a bullet proof vest, and allowed her to survive.

The pressure from the bullet sends Jolyne flying back into a table. Jotaro warns her to stay away from the door, explaining the sniper must have been waiting for a chance to kill them. Jotaro commands his daughter to put out the cigarette, which she does reluctantly. Believing the sniper is using a Stand to somehow sense their movement and location, he explains how Johngalli A. could sneak a silenced sniper rifle into the prison.

Jolyne looks at the bone Emporio gave her, and remembers his warning to her. Jolyne asks Jotaro what it is. Jotaro tells her the bone is part of a human female's pelvis melted down with acid. He then looks outside to see Johngalli A.'s Stand, Manhattan Transfer, gliding outside the room. The Stand appears to dance around in the air. Jotaro warns his daughter not to do anything, but she tries to launch a string at it. It dodges, causing Jolyne to realize that it reacts to air currents.

As they watch the Stand, the prison guard Jolyne had knocked out wakes up and tries to attack her. She tries to warn the guard of the danger, but the guard is too enraged to listen. Jotaro summons Star Platinum to stop time and knock away the guard, but is too late as Johngalli's bullet pierces his shoulder; the bullet rips through Jotaro and hits the guard directly in the head. Jotaro figures out how Manhattan Transfer is used—it is a sniping satellite that senses the location of Johngalli's opponents and redirects his bullets.
