As a result, he grew to resent his father, thinking that he was off living a better, happier life without them. Following this he began to act out and become violent towards others, leading him to be sent to an orphanage. He then escaped and would continue his violent ways until one day in Rome. While he was in Rome, he spotted his father walking towards the coliseum and pursued him with the intent to kill him. When he walked into the coliseum, he spotted a jewel on the wall where the Pillar Men resided. As he went to reach the jewel, his father pushed him out of the way and began to get sucked up by the wall. From this, Caesar gained back his respect for his father and was determined to carry out his father's request, to report his death to Lisa Lisa.[6] Some time after this event, Caesar finds Lisa Lisa in Venice and begins his training.

Years later, Mario headed to the site where the Pillar Men were discovered, not knowing his son, Caesar was tailing him. When Caesar arrived, he attempted to pick a jewel from the wall but was pushed out of the way by Mario to save him from Kars' trap, becoming absorbed by the wall.
