Mochizuki Family
The Mochizuki Family (望月家, Mochizuki-ke) is first seen in Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan - Episode 4: The Harvest Moon and currently consists of five family members but the full family goes back sixteen generations as far back to the Battle of Sekigahara. They reside in Morioh as Rohan Kishibe states they live near him. Their real name is unknown since Rohan used "Mochizuki" as a pseudonym before telling the story about them. Every direct descendant of the family all share the same date of death of September 8th, the date of the Harvest Moon which ties to a curse that has been dealt with for every generation.
Family curse
Every year during the Harvest Moon, they must view the moon all together until 12 AM. If they follow this rule, they will live long lives as shown by Seizo Mochizuki and his wife Sae both living to 100+ in good health. However, if a member of the family doesn't follow the rule, they will be killed by unfortunate events. Seen with Noboru's brother Mamoru who died by drowning at 17 while trying to help a neighbor's kid from drowning and his father Sakuzo who died of an allergic reaction to a giant hornet sting at 46. Unbeknownst to them, the family is stalked by a spirit known as the Moon Rabbit who is the one that brings the misfortune to anyone in the family who doesn't follow the rule. A way to avoid the misfortune is if a family member accepts someone's hand in marriage, seen when Aki is narrowly spared of misfortune by hornets by accepting her boyfriend's proposal, thus causing the spirit to proclaim she is no longer part of the family in mind or body. The misfortune was instead redirected to a motorcyclist driving by that caused them to crash and be killed to even the balance. The origin of the curse is unknown.

Steel Ball Run Vomic
- VOMIC, short for Voice Comic, is the name given a manga adaptation that adds accessories such as voices, sounds and music, very similar to Motion comics. The idea was conceived in November 2007 by Shueisha. They've done vomics for several series they have serialized, Assassination Classroom, Naruto, and Haikyu!! being some notable series they've done it for. In 2009, Steel Ball Run had a VOMIC created for it that covered parts of chapters 1, 5, 6 and 7.
