The End of A Proud Man is the sixty-first chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It is also the seventeeth chapter of Part II: Battle Tendency.

Summary

With the sun shining on Santana he starts to crumble, but as Joseph starts to congratulate Stroheim, Santana enters Stroheim’s body through his stub to escape the sun.  Desperate to kill Santana however, Stroheim prepares to blow both of them up with a grenade. However, before he does this, Stroheim tells Joseph that there are other “Pillar Men” and Stroheim's division was sent to awaken Santana to discover another weakness besides the sun. Stroheim then finally tells Joseph to go to Rome where he will meet someone very important. After Stroheim tells all of this, the grenade explodes, leaving Joseph with more questions than answers.

Santana, exposed to the sun, then tries to make a last ditch effort to get to a nearby well, tackling Joseph into it too. However, this proves futile as the time was noon and the sun was directly shining above the well at that moment, so Santana petrifies anyway.
