Chapter 45
New York's JoJo (New York's Joseph Joestar - Part 1 in the JoJonium release) is the forty-fifth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It is also the very first chapter of Part II: Battle Tendency. Additionally, unlike in the Tankoubon release, this chapter is included in the JoJonium release of Battle Tendency rather than in the last volume of the previous part.
Summary
Battle Tendency is set in 1938, 49 years after the events of Part I: Phantom Blood. Speedwagon has become a rich oil tycoon and Straizo succeeded Tonpetty as master of the Ripple.
Speedwagon and Straizo travel to Mexico to investigate a mysterious underground caverns. There they find it filled with similar stone masks to the one that was destroyed many years ago, as well as a body integrated into a stone column.
Meanwhile, in New York, Jonathan's grandson, Joseph Joestar (also nicknamed "JoJo"), saves a young African-American pick-pocket named Smokey Brown from some corrupt policemen using the Ripple inherited from his grandfather.
