Pour la majorité de l'histoire, Jotaro est gardé en sécurité dans le quartier général de la [[Fondation Speedwagon]]. Son corps sans vie est d'abord conservé dans une capsule cryogénique. For most of the story, he is in this coma, hoping to be revived. In the meantime, Jotaro is being taken care of by doctors from the Speedwagon Foundation who watch over his slowly decaying body and experiment with his condition. The doctors discover among others that he still has instinctive memories of certain things, such as Jolyne and his hat.

Jolyne et ses alliés parviennent à s'évader de Green Dolphin Street et envoient le disque mémoire de Jotaro à la fondation Speedwagon. Jotaro se remet lentement. Jotaro fait son retour au [[Centre Spatial Kennedy]] alors que Jolyne se bat avec {{Fr|Enrico Pucci}}. Jotaro parvient à rejoindre Jolyne malgré l'anomalie gravitationnelle causée par {{Fr|C-Moon}} grâce au pouvoir d'{{Fr|Ermes Costello}}. Jotaro intervient au moment où Pucci est sur le point de tirer sur Jolyne et Star Platinum le propulse sur le cadre d'une porte. After Jolyne successfully sends his Memory DISC back to him, Jotaro makes a slow recovery. However, he makes a full return during Jolyne's second confrontation with [[Enrico Pucci]] in Cape Canaveral along with [[Ermes Costello]]. Appearing just in time to save Jolyne from being shot, Jotaro punches Pucci upside the head with Star Platinum. Now fully mastering his Stand, he confronts Pucci and has Ermes shoot the priest, stopping time in order to follow up and launch a spear straight at Pucci's head. However, Pucci somehow is able to see and react to the spear and narrowly avoids being killed, while also making use of the spear's momentum to send him toward the ideal location to unlock the Stand [[Made in Heaven]].
