Line 105:
Acca Howler brings the group to a room in the lower decks of his yacht to negotiate with them. At first, he tries to bribe the trio with $40,000,000 in cash each, but the group persists. Charming Man puts Acca under pressure and argues that Acca is in way more trouble than he lets on because the impending government investigation will completely freeze his source of income on the northern slope of Mt. Hualalai. After Jodio whispers to Charming Man, the latter presents a plan to exchange a land on O'ahu owned by the bank with the HOWLER Company's own land, pretending that it could protect his assets. However, their conversation is interrupted when everyone sees small pieces of rock scattered over the table, and Acca recognizes that it is from the Lava Rock. Suspicious, he orders Dragona at gunpoint to stand up.<ref>{{Ch|TJL Chapter 23}}</ref> As Howler becomes enraged, Jodio whispers to Dragona to use [[Smooth Operators]] to move the serial numbers on the money to make it worthless, as he expects Howler to use the bills to search for the owner of the Lava Rock. Seeing him whispering in Dragona's ear, Howler shoots them but fortunately misses his mark. Howler eventually grabs Dragona and tosses them into a pile of money, and to stall, Jodio suggests to Charming Man to tell Howler Dragona is not a woman, as Howler presumes. Desperate, Howler searches Dragona but finds nothing as Dragona has hidden the rock in their fist.

[[Key West]] reports that several fireboats are approaching the cruiser. Indeed, Howler has set the electrical system on fire when he fired at Jodio. Seeing the police boats surrounding the yacht, Charming Man and Jodio push Howler further by underlining how little time he has to safeguard his assets and declare he must sign the land exchange now.<ref>{{Ch|TJL Chapter 24}}</ref>
