Line 100:
On Meryl Mei's instruction, the gang goes to Howler's mansion to directly claim his land on the northern slopes of Mt. Hualalai with Dolphin Bank's documents. Once they arrive at Howler's estate, Jodio, Dragona impersonating a bank employee, and Charming Man disguised as Yokohama get on a dinghy to approach Howler, who is currently on his cruiser. However, as they approach the cruiser, the crew suddenly receives a text from Meryl Mei, who has strangely sent a mass text to all her students asking for them to complete a report on Queen Lili'uokalani, by 10:20 on Monday. Jodio decodes the message by consulting his history book and realizes that Meryl Mei has been cornered by enemies.<ref name="TJL22">{{Ch|TJL Chapter 22}}</ref>
Although things seem grim, Jodio reassures the group by explaining that Meryl being targeted right now also means Howler's men have not yet found out about their plan to impersonate the bank and that the opportunity to seize the land is still present. The trio thus boards an hostile Acca Howler's cruiser, Jodio being presented as a gofer named "Noir". On the upper deck, Key West takes an interest in Dragona, who calls herself "Pink Nagasaki", and asks her which university she attended. Dragona thoughtlessly answers "Harvard", which shocks Jodio, but Key West has also attended Harvard and inquires about a certain Pr. Herzberg. Dragona is left speechless but thankfully, the conversation is interrupted when West and Dragona are shocked to see Howler have a gun.
Acca Howler brings the group to a room in the lower decks of his yacht to negotiate with them. At first, he tries to bribe the trio with $40,000,000 in cash each, but the group persists. Charming Man puts Acca under pressure and argues that Acca is in way more trouble than he lets on because the impending government investigation will completely freeze his source of income on the Northen Slope of Mt. Hualalai. and presents a plan to exchange lands owned by the bank against Howler's own land, pretending that it could protect his assets. It is at this moment that everyone sees small pieces of rock scattered over the table, and Acca recognizes the Lava Rock. Suspicious, he orders Dragona at gunpoint to stand up.<ref>{{Ch|TJL Chapter 23}}</ref>
