Narancia's death comes as a shock in this series. Unlike those of Abbacchio, the flowers that blanket Narancia are depicted in the manga. Director Takahashi recalls, "We asked Urara Nagai to look into and classify the flowers from the manga. After some research, she believed that flowers of the ivy gourd were the closest, and we went from there.
