At Town Square, a couple of high[[Yoshikage school girls askKira|Kira]]'s [[Kira's Female Coworkers|female coworkers]] ask if he'd join himthem for lunch. He refuses, upon which [[Kira's Coworker|another man in a suitcoworker]] appears and informs them of Kira's background. Kira is a 33 -year -old single male who's known for being popular with the ladies due to his looks, but lacks any passion and instead focuses on work. He is described as a nobody, the mostkind boringof guyman onwho fades into the planetbackground.

Kira is seen walking into St. Gentlemen's, a local food market, where he begins to seemingly argue with himself at the sandwich section. He reveals a {{MI|Kira's "Girlfriends"|severed hand}} in his inner coat pocket and discreetly rubs it on one of the {{MI|St. Gentleman Sandwiches|sandwiches}}, treating it as if it was another person and then proceeding to lick itthe severed hand. After buying the sandwich, Kira walks out to a local park and dines on the sandwich while propped against a tree. He realizes the hand is beginning to rot and decides to store it in the sandwich bag. to dispose of later.

Nearby, [[Shigekiyo Yangu|Shigechi]], holding a similar sandwhichsandwich bag, walks up to [[Josuke Higashikata|Josuke]] and [[Okuyasu Nijimura|Okuyasu]], at which point the two of them ask for him to borrowlend them some money for lunch. He neglectfully does so, but turns around to realize a dog had stolen his sandwich bag. He discovers Kira's bag nearby and mistakenly takes it, unaware of the severed hand inside. Kira begins to panic upon realizing the bag was taken.
