Jump Novel Vol. 4 (ジャンプノベル vol.4, Janpu noberu vol.4) is the fourth issue of a Novel Magazine that released on April 1, 1993 and was sold by Shueisha.

History

With Weekly Shonen Jump's ever-growing success and having exceeded 6 million units magazine sold, 1991's Issues of #3 and #4, WSJ advertised the new brand of a Novel Magazine and was lightly announced as a "Ghost Magazine".[2] The first issue of Jump Novel would fully release in the Summer of 1991, as the idea of Jump Novel was to create a new book label catering to mostly novels known as "Jump J Books" which get eventual released once enough material has been compiled by the manga creators. Jump Novel had semi-frequent publishing of issues up until Vol. 16 release in 1999. No further information can be found online why no more issues weren't published.

The priority of Jump Novel would be to have Weekly Shonen Jump's popular catalog of manga artists, at the time, draw characters from their respective series and have them feature them on the covers you would see artists like Kazuki Takahashi, Tsukasa Hojo, Tetsuo Hara, Masanori Morita, Eiichiro Oda, Izumi Matsumoto and Takehiko Inoue.

The magazine was aimed at a teenage audience and tried to sell the appeal of itself like another one of Shueisha's magazine titled Weekly Young Jump which is notable for its partially suggestive covers of Gravure models.

Other manga artists were also commissioned to draw celebrities or philosophers on the covers much like Weekly Young Jump, the first cover featured infamous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, with following issues having Japanese novelist, Natsume Soseki and Italian explorer Christopher Columbus, the magazine would also have cover debuts Gravure models as well.
