The Hand
The Hand (ザ・ハンド) is a stand featured in Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable. Its user is Okuyasu Nijimura, a central character in the story.
Its name is based on the band, The Band. [1]
Appearance/Personality
The Hand appears as a humanoid figure in a yellow and black attire similar to football pads, though it has several spikes jutting from it, with a towel like object draped on its shoulders with a $ symbol on one end and a ¥ symbol on the other – corresponding with Okuyasu's own fashion theme of currency symbols. It seems to have some type of Blinder on the outside of its head-light shaped eyes, and a massive right hand (roughly 3 times the size of its left hand).[2]
Abilities
The Hand is a heavily battle-oriented stand, similar to Polnareff's Silver Chariot, all its powers are either destructive or used to get an opponent in range for its powers. The Hand is possibly as strong, but is much slower than Josuke's Crazy Diamond.
Elimination of Space: This ability is one of the most powerful in the Jojo Universe, as The Hand is able to erase whatever space its right hand touches, effectively removing whatever is in its path from existence, similar to Cream. Okuyasu states that not even he knows where the voided objects go, but it seems the objects are eliminated like an extremely sharp blade had sliced clean through them. This ability allows the normally short range Stand extreme distance in its attacks, as it can simply remove the air between it and a target, closing them in instantly. This ability also seems to apply some type of force onto inanimate objects that are moved forward by this ability, as a pair of trashcans were sent crashing into Okuyasu from across a street when it was used. Okuyasu has used this principle to move himself, allowing himself to "teleport" short distances. This may mean it works under the principle of a vacuum cleaner, sucking matter into itself, rather than completely removing the space it touches.
Super Strength: Even though The Hand's major power is its ability, it is not weak, as Josuke notes that its right hand is strong enough that even a normal punch from it would likely cause considerable damage to Crazy Diamond, a knee to Josuke's side made him puke blood, and an uppercut sent the grounded Crazy Diamond flying backwards.
