The chapter opens with a brief summary of the town of [[Windknight''Windnights''s and eventually itLot]], showsrevealing that [[Dio Brando|Dio]] has taken refuge in a mansion nearthere; ahe graveyardhas wheremanaged he hasto recoveredrecover from most of his burn wounds at this time by feastingfeeding on haplessthe younglife force of the unfortunate women inof secretthe withtown. As he gives a woman's corpse to [[Jack the Ripper]], assistingnow hima loyal servant, Dio explains his position at the top of the food chain and his plans to eventually rule all of humanity. ThenAs [[Wang Chan]] walks in with the scar [[Jonathan Joestar|Jonathan]] made on his face and, Dio's attention turns to the scar and its cause.
 
Elsewhere, Jonathan, [[Will Anthonio Zeppeli|Zeppeli]], and [[Robert E. O. Speedwagon|Speedwagon]] are taking a [[List of Vehicles#Windknight.27s Lot Carriage|horse drawn -carriage]] to WindnightsWindknight's Lot. basedBased on street knowledge from Speedwagon, that Wang Chan retreated there. Thethe trio thenhad concludesconcluded that Dio residesis currently residing in Windnightsthe town. Zeppeli laments though that even though he let Wang Chan escape so they could learn Dio's whereabouts, Dio now most likely knows of the [[Ripple]] fromand Wangits Chanuse. Zeppeli then asks Speedwagon for a corkscrew to open his wine bottle of wine.

The carriage is suddenly stopped partway through the tunnel. Speedwagon, puzzled by this, goes out to ask the driver why hethey had stopped. butDespite Jonathan warns him that Dio's minionswarnings couldabout bethe ablelack toof getprotective to him more easily because they aresunlight in an enclosed darkthe tunnel with no light., Speedwagon undaunted goessteps out of the carriage anyway to askcheck on the driver why he stopped. He findsquickly outdiscovers why. All ofthat the horses have been killeddecapitated and havethe haddriver theirkilled, headshis removedcorpse andtopped with one of their heads has been shoved onto the stagecoachhorses's head,heads. whoThe man has diedseveral fromknives giantsticking lacerationsout inof his back.
 
Then somethingSomething moves inside the neck of one of the horses necks, and Zeppeli warns Speedwagon and Jonathan to getstep awayback. fromJack the horses.Ripper Suddenlyuses Jacka theknife Ripperto cut crawlshimself out of the horse's body up, through its neck. Jonathan and Speedwagon standstare in awe at thishorror, as it seems that Jack had somehow createdmanaged thisto atrocitydo this while the wagon was moving. Zeppeli, fazedunfazed, pokes a clean hole in the bottom of ahis wine bottle hewith hadhis withfinger. him andAs he poursreminds athe glassother oftwo wineto proclaimingstand heback, willdeciding to fight the [[zombie]] by himself, Jack the Ripper asjumps Jackout emerges fromof the horse's bodycorpse.
