Chapter 22
Summary
Jack the Ripper after emerging from the dead horse carcass he hid in decides to display his power by cutting the air with his knife. Then he boasts of his power, severs his thumb, and jams his knife in his face through his cheeks. From this Zeppeli infers that he must have been an evil man when he was mortal. Zeppeli then figures out how Jack the Ripper planed his surprise attack but then Jack the Ripper catches him off guard and throws the wagon they were riding in at them. The trio dodges this and the carriage blocks off one of their exits.
Jack the Ripper then laughs manically as scalpels emerge all over his body! From this Speedwagon realizes that, because of the extra scalpels he was able to stop their carriage, kill all of the horses, and their driver without detection. Zeppeli fazed takes a sip of his wine glass he poured as Jack the Ripper launches the scalpels from his body at high speeds using the power of his muscles. Jonathan and Speedwagon take cover behind a rock as the scalpels all hit the front of the rock instead. Then suddenly the scalpels started to cut through the rock itself injuring Speedwagons shoulder in the process.
As three of the scalpels are about to hit Zeppeli though he spits out some of the wine he drank as it turns into three rapidly spinning circles of liquid that cut Jack the Rippers flying scalpels in half straight down their blades, the Ripple cutter as Zeppeli calls it. Zeppeli then tells Jonathan that by controlling his fear he master the power of the Ripple as Zeppeli counters one of Jacks stabbings with the wine bottle he was holding. Zeppeli then uses the Sendo wave kick on Jack the Ripper burning the right half of his face severely. Zeppeli then tells Jonathan to finish off Jack as he drinks his wine..
