Gatta was once a normal a cat (British Blue) that was hit with an arrow possibly by Kira, as seen by a hole under its chin. It takes recluse in the cellar of the Kawajiri household where it accidentally gets killed by a broken glass bottle when Shinobu Kawajiri tries to chase it out. After being buried in their garden, its dormant stand ability brings it back to life as Catweed.
