Steely Dan is an enemy stand user from Part III: Stardust Crusaders.

Synopsis

Steely Dan is one of Dio Brando's henchmen, and he confronts Jotaro Kujo and his friends in Pakistan (en route to Egypt, where Dio is). Like many other Stand Users from Part 3, Steely Dan has been ordered by Dio to kill Jotaro and company before they can reach Dio in Egypt. Upon seen him Jotaro punches him in the face at which point Steely Dan announces that his stand has entered Joseph and he will kill him if he is physically assaulted once more. This leads the gang to find a way to battle him, which includes the only time they use their mental capabilities to shrink their stands which logical as they are just composed of psychic energy.

Using his stand, he attacks Joseph, and in doing so, embarrasses and controls Jotaro. However, his plan backfires when Kakyoin and Polnareff shrink their stands to combat The Lovers inside Joseph's head. He is soon pummeled by Jotaro after Kakyoin ties up his stand, preventing it from attacking and entering anyone else.

• In the official American release of the manga by Viz Media, Steely Dan's name was changed to "Rubber Soul" for copyright reasons.
