Perla Pucci
Pearla Pucci (ペルラ・プッチ) is a minor character from Part VI: Stone Ocean and while her role is minor she plays a critical part in the storyline.
Story
Being the youngest and only daughter of the Pucci family, Pearla grew into a beautiful girl who one day met a delivery boy named Wes, aka Weather. After Weather stopped a thief from stealing Pearla's bag, the two quickly fell in love - not knowing that they were actually brother and sister. Pearla's brother Enrico soon realized that Weather was actually his twin brother and sought to separate the pair in a manner that would least harm Pearla. The "private detective agency" that Enrico used, however, turned out to have affiliations with the KKK. They investigated Weather, discovering that his mother had married a black man and, upon seeing Weather and Pearla exchange a goodnight kiss, attacked them for having an interracial relationship.
The situation got out of control, leading to Weather being beaten nearly to death and hung from a tree and Pearla sustaining injuries as well. Pearla cut Weather down and, now aware that her brother was responsible for the incident, vowed never to feel again. She then jumped off the nearby cliff, killing herself. Her body was found down river not long after, and Enrico's desire to preserve her memory resulted in him gaining a stand. He then kept Pearla's memory disc with him.
Trivia
- Pearla's story partly resembles that of Romeo and Juliet, taking parts from Greek tragedies like Oedipus Rex (who too felt for family member without knowing).
