Although the opening animations to Solatorobo are animated in 4:3 and are viewed as such in-game, the higher quality versions included in the Prelude Disc preorder bonus are displayed in cropped 16:9. There is no known source of the openings in uncropped 4:3. However, various 4:3 frames with resolutions higher than that of the Nintendo DS's bottom screen were released to online news outlets to promote the game.
