Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation was announced on July 5th 2012 in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Jojo's bizarre adventure. It was unveiled during the Hirohiko Araki Jojo Exhibition press conference alongside Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. Not to be confused with the previously released OVAs. The first episode broadcasted in Japan on October 6 2012.

| Englishman George Joestar mistakenly assumes Dario Brando had saved his life during a carriage accident, and decides to adopt his son, Dio. Heir to the Joestar Estate, Jonathan Joestar, attempts to befriend Dio, but Dio's plan from the start is to drive JoJo to madness and earn George's trust so that he can become the heir to the Joestar fortune. Dio violently beats JoJo in a boxing match, turns his friends against him, steals his girlfriend Erina's first kiss, and even burns his dog Danny to death in an incinerator. | |||

Trivia
- It is unknown how much of the manga the anime will cover, but during the preview reel, all eight JoJo's seen thus far were featured. In addition, the show has already been commissioned for at least 26 episodes, of which less than half would be needed to cover Phantom Blood, if the first episode's pacing is any indication.
- In the second episode when the opening is revealed, Manga panels can be seen, showing Jolyne,Josuke,Jotaro and Joseph.This could be another hint about the lenght of the anime.In this case Part VI would be the end. Since SBR is another version of part I,could be assumed this can be a reason to not appear in this "reverse timeline"
- The Ending of each episode so far shows the characters featured in that episode.
