Jesus
'Jesus Christ' is a key character from Part VII: Steel Ball Run. The events in the new universe are based in the search for his body's parts.
History
Past
According to the story told in the manga, after Jesus' resurrection, he thanked Joseph of Arimathea for the care of his body and stated that he would travel to the east. When Joseph asked him about a future meeting, Jesus made a map in the sand showing Joseph nine locations.
Jesus traveled across the continent, learning new languages and cultures until he reached the sea. Making a ship with the help of the locals, he set off across the sea to America, where he lived, aged, and was finally put to rest. He seemed to have at least partial connection with the natives, who wished to see him prior to his deathbed. Shortly after his death, a large earthquake tore the ground apart, dividing his corpse by the movement of sand and relocating it to the different areas of America that would become the nine locations on Joseph of Arimathea's map.
Steel Ball Run
His body is introduced initially suspected as the body of a saint, as several characters on the race were after the corpse parts. In the initial chapters of SBR, the relationship between the corpse and the Devil's Palm is uncertain, bringing a Stand to everyone who made contact with them. Later it is revealed that the Devil's Palm was created when Jesus' body was finally laid to rest and a great catastrophe destroyed much of the land.
Blackmore was the first to perceive the presence of Jesus. Surprised that Jesus has revealed to him, he lowered his guard and was shot by Lucy.
In his fight with Axl Ro, Johnny received advice from Jesus to defeat Civil War's ability. After this fight, Funny Valentine steals all the corpse parts from Gyro and Johnny.
Later, when Lucy Steel fled from the president, she tripped over the stolen body parts, and somehow become pregnant, discovering the corpse's head in her womb and later developing a Stand.
Appearance/Personality
Jesus Christ is seen from behind or covered in shadows. However, one can distinguish the crown of thorns and the wounds in his hands. In the chapter that tells his story, he is shown with long hair and a robe that covers most of his body. His face is never seen.
Stand
It could be assumed that Lucy's Stand is the stand of his complete body. This stand enables misfortunes to be redirected from a certain area when the corpse is complete.
