Bast, also written as Bastet (バステト) is a stand appearing in Part III: Stardust Crusaders. Its user is Mariah and it is named after the feline ancient Egyptian goddess of the same name. [1]

Abilities

Bast has a simplistic form resembling an outlet that can be placed anywhere. This sparks the curiosity of a person and upon touching the outlet Bast's ability activates causing the person to become irradiated with a strong magnetic force that attracts nearby metallic objects towards the victim, more than one person can be placed under the same 'magnetic curse'. Slowly the objects will either overwhelm the person or simply impale them.

Synopsis

Despite not being an offensive stand, Bast gives a lot of trouble to Joseph and Abdul due to their magnetism.

Joseph deals with the mishaps first as he finds himself attracting knives, forks, chairs, even women's skirt buttons (which results in him unwillingly wooing a slightly older woman), in order to save him from getting his hands crushed in an elevator, Abdul presses the emergency switch which shocks him, resulting in both Abdul and Joseph suffering the magnetism.

They begin to pursue Mariah who hides in the female's bathroom (which Abdul mentions is more Polnareff's territory for trouble), while they almost got away with looking for the woman with the beautiful legs, their magnetized bodys attracts the stall doors with humorous results (including the older woman from before).

As the minutes fly by, the magnetism gets stronger as Abdul and Joseph's body get more powerfully stuck together in very embarrassing ways (making them look like they're kissing, dancing together and...Abdul on his knees, needless to say, the old woman from the first two incidents didn't like Joseph anymore).

As they find Mariah, they are stuck on a railroad track.
