A stand disc is a simple disc designed after the person from whom it was taken or the stand that was taken from the person. They are conjured and manipulated by Enrico Pucci's stand Whitesnake, and can even be manipulated as physical objects, such as being stored in a tire and continuing to exist even after Whitesnake no longer exists. The discs are indestructable unless inserted into a dying person, causing the inserted disc to slowly crumble.

Function

There are two types of discs: memory discs and stand discs (the term used here refers to the disc containing the stand of its original user).

  • Stand Disc: This disc contains the stand of a person in question. A person with his or her stand disc taken from them will collapse into a coma and collapse into a near-death state. Stand discs can be inserted into compatible users, even enabling some such as Emporio to temporarily bypass the one-stand rule. Pucci can also enable people to follow commands by inserting discs with information or impossible situations, in a manner similar to Heaven's Door's abilities.
  • Memory Disc: This disc contains the memories of the person in question. Even if only the Memory Disc of the person is removed, the person in question will still be kept alive in a vegetative state, unable to even perform basic functions. Strangely, however, Jotaro was shown to have kept himself in a meditation position even when he only had his Stand Disc reinserted, implying that subliminal or learned behaviors garnered over the years are not removed if the Memory Disc itself is removed. A Memory Disc can also be read by other people who do not own the original Memory Disc via insertation of the disc into their heads.
