Chapter 57
Summary
Stroheim and Speedwagon both shocked by Santanas escape both resolve to destroy Santana somehow before he gets to the outside world. Stroheim though is especially concerned that Santana is in the air duct because Santana could find Stroheim and get into his observation room. Then suddenly Santana dives into a nearby soldier’s body from the air duct and inflates him almost double the soldier’s size!
Without hesitation the rest of the soldiers open fire at the soldier body containing Santana at Stroheim’s command. However, this does little more than tickle him and Soldier-Santana retaliates by pointing his finger like a gun at the other officers. This initially makes Stroheim believe Santana is only repeating information but this belief is shattered when Santana questions them about if they disturbed his sleep, reconfirming that he has high intelligence. Santana then actually shoots bullets from his fingers back at the soldiers, which he got from the soldiers shooting him.
A soldier then tries to help Speedwagon escape the line of fire but when Speedwagon refuses his help the soldier laments he was always stubborn confusing Speedwagon. It is then that Santanna sheds the soldier’s body startleing the other soldiers. The other strange soldier then goes to rip off the hair of a nearby officer. Then using his hair the mysterious soldier then uses the “Ripple Hair Attack” revealing himself as Joseph to Speedwagon. Moreover, in using this attack Joseph deflects the bullets that were coming towards him.
