This template is used in conjunction with Template:Video Game to summarize release date information for computer or video game articles.

Syntax

Using named parameters

The following parameters may be specified to display release dates for multiple regions in a single call (however, the order is always defined as below and cannot be changed manually in a single call):

JP=date
Japanese region release
NA=date
North American region release
PAL=date
PAL region release (or, if they differ: EU=date: European release, AUS=date: Australasian (Australia and New Zealand) release)
WW=date
World-wide release (in contrast to the International version, this is where the title is available for multiple regions simultaneously, occurs often for digitally distributed titles)
INT=date
International Version release (this is not a synonym for World-wide: See link to ensure you know what an International version is)

Regional release dates should be listed in chronological order, which the editor has to use separate calls for if they do not follow the order above.

Use Start date for the earliest of the dates only.

Alternate syntax

Using two parameters  region

region
Wikilinked region name. For brevity, should be formatted as a piped link, e.g. JPN'.
• It is also possible to combine multiple regions in this parameter, for release dates which are the same between several regions -- e.g. EU / NA
date
Release date (should not be wikilinked). Use Start date for the earliest of the dates only.

Using three parameters (for backwards compatibility) region

region | ID
Name and abbreviation for the region (Japan, North America, etc.) to which the release date applies. This is essentially the same format as a piped link, minus the surrounding brackets.
date
Release date (should not be wikilinked). Use Start date for the earliest of the dates only.

Specific countries

The following are template codes for specific countries, they should only be used if a release is exclusive to that country or there is a large difference in the release date. In most cases use first EU date instead of UK.

BR=date
Brazil-only release date.
UK=date
UK-only release date.
