Chapter 14
Summary
Speedwagon, damaged from one of the dead police man’s arms tries to warn Jonathan that he cannot fight Dio and that he should run away but he is on the floor in a heap with his ribs and right arm broken so he cannot help Jonathan. Jonathan in his mind theorizes that since the stone mask unlocks the secret potential of the human brain, that the only way to kill Dio now is to destroy his brain completely!
Suddenly the corpse of a policeman Dio sucked the life out of reanimates and crawls toward Speedwagon for his blood! However before the undead policeman can begin to drain Speedwagon, Jonathan strikes the policeman’s head with his spear and it decapitates the undead officer. Then Dio attacks Jonathan from above, but thinking quickly Jonathan stabs the spear upward but Dio blocks it with his hand. The spear does puncture Dios hand but it stops when Dio grabs it. Then Dio breaks the spear in two using only his hand, the point of spear then pierces the left side of Jonathan’s collarbone.
Dio then turns his back for a moment to gloat but when he turns around Jonathan and Speedwagon have disappeared. However, after a quick assessment of the foyer Dio notices some blood leading to the curtain. Thinking that he has found the two of them he pulls the curtain aside and finds that the curtain is on fire suddenly. It drapes over Dio burning him under it as Jonathan and Speedwagon look on from across the room.
