Summary
This chapter begins focusing on a character named Poco Loco who decides to join the Steel Ball Run race to gain enough money to help his grandfather have money to build a barn and live an easy life with the money left over after that the scene goes to Gyro Zeppeli confronting a man about taking some of his entry fee money the man is held back by some on lookers who comment on taking the man to the sheriff. After Gyro finishes paying the rest of entry fee with his money as well as getting his recipt he is confronted once again by the thief who stole his money who goads gyro on to try and kill him with the steel balls while he steals one of the on lookers guns and points it at gyro he is then tackled to the ground by the on lookers while saying that he will join the race to block and stalk gyro's path through it all. Gyro tells the on lookers to give the thief back the gun he was holding as well as that he will not press charges against the man so they should let him go. The on lookers hand the gun back to the thief as well as let him up while gyro tells him to pick up the gun as well as warn him that if he picks it up it'll be a "sign" that he's going to bother gyro. As more people crowd around the Gyro and the thief we get to see Johnny Joestar trying to get into the crowd. Gyro looks at the theif as he inches his hand to the gun and stops stating that everything he said earlier was just a joke as the sheriff gets closer asking what they are doing. As the sheriff is questioning what the thief and gyro are doing the theif picks up the gun and points at Gyro intending to shoot him but is hit in the shoulder by the steel ball gyro threw as the sheriff and everyone else in the crowd includong Johnny Joestar look on in shock. Gyro then tells the thief that he isn't a nice guy and warns the thief that he should let go of the gun and go see a doctor before lunch the thief calls gyro a bastard tries to shoot him but the gun is pointed back at him and fired at him. While Gyro walks away from the scene a few of the on lookers ask the sheriff to arrest gyro but he says no stating that it was a duel both sides agreed to it and no laws were broken as Johnny goes after Gyro thinking to himself that he saw the steel ball Gyro threw spin at a high speed as he catches up to Gyro Johnny touches the steel ball he just threw while Gyro tells him not to due to it still spinning. Johnny touches the ball and for a brief few moments his legs move. As he thinks to himself about how he started walking from adolescence to adulthood after meeting Gyro who was mystery from begining to end.
