Adel Berlitz (アデル・ベルリッツ, Aderu Berurittsu) is a main character in Seven Stars Project.

He is the only known child of former crime mogul Regal Berlitz, and as such, he is exceptionally gifted in the art of fighting and while still very young, is introduced as a very powerful and honorable fighter. Adel, along with his second cousin Rose Li Schroeder, organize and host the new Seven Stars League, with the sole intention of defeating Tsukune Aono to test his own strength.

Although he is bested in battle, Adel accepts his defeat and in order to right his progenitor's wrongs, teams up with Tsukune against Eve, who has also used Rose as her pawn. After Tsukune helps Rose break free from her mind control, Adel joins the Seven Stars as its final member. At the end of the Universe Conflict, Adel opts to stay in Kendrix's universe but returns to help fight Z-One.

Adel possesses an Abnormality dubbed "Ascendant One" that allows him to copy and master any skill, technique, or ability just by seeing it once.

Appearance

Adel is a 198 cm (6 ft 6 in) tall and muscular man, who is often described by other characters as being extremely attractive. He possesses almost pale skin, light hair parted down the middle that is initially platinum colored but later becomes golden blonde, a strong jawline, thin eyebrows, red colored eyes. Due to his height, he towers over nearly every other character in the series and nearly matches his father's own height. Casually, he is seen wearing a short, royal purple tunic that is bordered with black and gold accents, and across his mid-section is a loosely fitting white belt. Over top of this is a white over-coat that possess a stiff, black high-backed collar that shows a crimson silk inside, with golden epaulettes at the shoulders.

Personality

Unlike his father, Regal Berlitz, Adel is an honorable fighter, who exhibits good sportsmanship, as demonstrated when he is defeated by Tsukune. While he does not like his father, he loves his second cousin Rose, his only family, even though sometimes he has his own doubts about her sincerity. Even so, upon realizing something is wrong with her after the tournament, he cooperated with Tsukune's allies to get to the bottom of Eve's plans, and at the then-strange behavior of his second cousin. Due to his high level of self-instilled discipline, both casually and in even in battle, Adel speaks in a very polite tone. However, after getting his potential unlocked, he becomes much more aggressive and begins using ore instead of boku.

Abilities

Adel is described as a prodigy even among prodigies whose innate talent and natural potential exceeds that of any other. By age 18 Adel's power and raw skill was on par with Zander despite being a mere human and likewise eclipsed most of their past enemies, before unlocking the ability to tap into the Ruin power. Much of this seemingly stems from his heritage as since early childhood, Adel has shown within him a seemingly limitless dormant power. Various people have note that Adel's potential is greater than what he knows himself and even the Grand Master, a being with the power to perceive and unlock one's hidden potential, was baffled by the sheer vastness of Adel's inner capacities and struggled to release it. His aura is also so big, that he inadvertantly prevented others from seeing other people's auras.

As he got older and continued to train, he gradually became able to naturally access larger portions of his power and learned to control the tainted Ruin blood within him, but still struggled to fully master it. It was not until he was a young adult could he fully access his true capacities at will. Even afterwards however, Adel's potential growth was still seemingly limitless as he would continue to show an increase in power from his rage or desire, as would regular training; Adel's natural growth rate is also remarkably high even by mortal standards. Despite being only human, with only his natural might, he was able to compete against his foes of advanced physiology. Both Tsukune and Nexus agree that Adel's potential exceeded either of theirs even after they both obtained an evolved version of Numerion God. Likewise, even after seeing Tsukune obtain Final God, Zander openly believed Adel could still surpass him.

During the Universal Tournament, after the incredibly powerful Kendrix appeared, Adel declared that he could handle her alone. Proving his worth, Adel's innate potential allowed him to quickly grow stronger than ever as he fought Kendrix, ultimately becoming her equal despite being a human and being at a disadvantage for the majority of the fight, with the two wearing each other down and resulting in Kendrix's elimination. Seeing this, Tsukune notes that Adel has become stronger than ever before, and Zander considered the possibility that Adel could surpass Tsukune during the tournament.

In the Grand Tour Arc, Adel felt confident that he could help Tsukune to recover the Dark Shards, despite the fact that he and Rose acknowledge there could be all sort of unknown threats throughout the galaxy. When Akiko arrogantly boasts that she is the fourth strongest fighter on Earth (after Tsukune, Nexus, and Giotto), Giotto notes Adel as one of the people with strength surpassing his own. Adel ultimately decides to stay on Earth and work on his company. After getting his potential unlocked by the Grand Master, Adel returns to Earth with a massive power boost, able to shake the Earth just by stretching and dominate the newly transformed Tamega.

Abnormality

Ascendant One (超越(アセンダントワン), Asendanto Wan): Adel's Abnormality allows him to learn abilities, skills, and techniques and completely master them, to the extent that he can use them to one hundred and twenty percent of their capability, becoming more skilled with them than even their original users. This ability allows him to learn any skill quickly, from simple skills like baseball to the impossible feats performed by The Others. As his Abnormality has developed, Adel can now learn abilities based off of information or word-of-mouth. However, Ascendant One does have its limits; while Adel can learn skills that exceed his physical capabilities, he cannot copy the physical capabilities of the original skill holder. Adel is also unable to stop himself from learning an ability, skill or technique when he experiences it. He is also unable to learn styles.

Forms and Transformations

True Adel

True Adel (真アデル, Shin Aderu) is the final evolution of Adel, achieved by tapping into divine energy. After experiencing the power of Numerion God, Adel learned to use the raw might and enhanced senses of divine energy. When in this form, while his physical appearance remains unchanged, his energy is manifested as a pure white aura. It is a form well-beyond Tsukune's other forms. It is noted that True Adel possesses the aura of a God. This form lets him fight with more finesse and grace as he instinctively predicts his opponent's attacks with more efficiency. His godly energy allows him to sense other such beings and likewise can mask himself from most entities sensing him.

After witnessing Tsukune's Final God form, Adel is able to push this form even further beyond by mastering the art of autonomous self-movement, which provides him even greater strength, culminating with Adel's silver glow consuming him, turning his hair white and skin tone more ethereal in nature, as well as turning his eyes gold. In this form, Adel showed such excellent control of his energy, able to calmly repel and contain any energy assault thrown at him. He can unleash barrages of his energy in focused shockwaves and cancel out all but the strongest of attacks.
