Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation was announced on July 5th 2012 in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Jojo's bizarre adventure. It was unveiled during the Hirohiko Araki Jojo Exhibition press conference alongside Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle.
Not to be confused with the previously released OVAs .

Release Date
The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan sometime in October 2012.
