Jonathan bifurcating Dio.

Inspired by Dire's last act, Jonathan decides to use Bruford's sword to inflict Ripple on Dio without being frozen. But Dio, greatly unnerved and livid from Dire's attack, jumps backward on the balcony ledge while summoning all his zombies to kill the intruders. Jonathan goes ahead to fight Dio while Speedwagon and the Ripple users fend off the zombie horde. Jonathan uses Ripple-infused roses to distract Dio long enough to slice his arm off. Jonathan then nearly bifurcates Dio, who froze the blade while shoving his fingers into a partially Jonathan’s neck to grab him by his carotid artery. Dio failed to notice the torch behind him, Luck & Pluck conducting heat to thaw Jonathan before the sword's blade was broken off by Dio.

After halting Jonathan's attempt to finish him with his Sunlight Yellow Overdrive, Dio reattaches his severed arm and slides the two halves of his head back together while calling his opponent a "monkey" compared to the powerful being has become. As Dio launches a final attack, Jonathan uses the flames from a nearby torch to envelop his hands in fire so he can hit Dio in the chest with a double punch Overdrive. The force of the attack knocks Dio off the ledge as he slowly melts away, making a final attempt on Jonathan's life by shooting streams of high pressured blood from his eyes. With Dio apparently dead and his zombies exterminated, the group subsequently destroys the Stone Mask. But no one knew that Dio separated his head from his dissolving body at the last minute, with Wang Chan quickly spiriting Dio's head away.
