Gold Experience Requiem

You will never reach the "truth"! (『真実』に到達スルコトハ決シテナイ!)

Gold Experience Requiem (ゴールド・エクスペリエンス・レクイエム, Gōrudo Ekusuperiensu Rekuiemu) is the Requiem Stand of Giorno Giovanna, featured in the fifth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Vento Aureo.

It is an evolved form of Gold Experience created after being pierced by the Arrow, endowed with the ability to nullify the actions and will of anyone who opposes it.

Appearance

Gold Experience Requiem is a humanoid Stand of a similar height and build to its user, Giorno. Many of its features resemble the original Gold Experience, including the ladybugs on its hands and the oblong grooves across its body. Its head extends into pointed tips with the back of the head hollow, giving it the appearance of a crown or a flower that's grown up and bloomed.[1] Its eyes have a unique design among Stands, with the 'eyeballs' embedded in cross-like structure within slanted sockets. It has an extended ridge collar on the back of its neck and several indentations and various other patterns covering its body.

When it first appears, it wears the Arrow on its forehead; which eventually falls to the ground.[2]

Personality

Muda muda muda...!
—Gold Experience Requiem, Chapter 587

Gold Experience Requiem possesses a rather mechanical and polite tone, akin to a robot and similar to other Stands capable of speech. It speaks to Diavolo in the erased time normally occupied only by him and his Stand King Crimson, explaining that it can operate independently of Giorno's consciousness.[3]

Gold Experience Requiem is aware of the fact that not even Giorno knows what its ability is, and confidently states that no other Stand ability can ever oppose it. The Stand confirms to Diavolo that the fated “reality” Diavolo saw of himself winning through Epitaph and the movements that the Stand itself will perform during the time erasure period are true. However, the Stand says that Diavolo will never arrive at the reality that will occur.[3]

Abilities

G.E.R. brutally attacks Diavolo

Gold Experience Requiem is an autonomous close-range Stand that boasts an incredible increase in both speed and destructive power compared to its original form. It is capable of flicking stones fast enough that they cease to be visible to the human eye, and with enough power to destroy part of a building.[4] It also wields the arcane power to nullify the will and actions of any opponent, even the time-erasing power of King Crimson. As its attack power and abilities are incomparable to any previously-known Stand, it is stated to be "the ultimate Stand."[5]

Unlike Chariot Requiem, which went rampant after its user was incapacitated, Giorno has full control of his Requiem Stand and can use it freely. Even so, he is still unaware of the full extent of its abilities.[6]

Nullification

G.E.R. reverting blood to Diavolo (alongside everything else)
Your end has no ending! That's the power of Gold Experience Requiem!

Gold Experience Requiem's ultimate ability is to nullify the actions and willpower of anyone who opposes it, preventing their actions from becoming reality.[3][7] Once the effect activates, there is no escape, and any action the opponent performs will be reverted, regardless of their ability.

Any opponent directly attacked and "killed" by Requiem has the very fact of their death nullified, causing them to continuously and indefinitely experience death in various scenarios. This is the case for Diavolo, whose causes of "death" include being stabbed, dissected, and run over.[6]

Life Giver

G.E.R.'s empowered life giving

Despite its transformation, Gold Experience Requiem appears to have not only retained its life-giving abilities, but vastly enhanced them as well. This is demonstrated briefly when Requiem fires a small stone at high speed with enough power to damage a building before quickly transforming it into a scorpion that stings Diavolo's hand.[4]
