Tomb of the Boom 1 2 3 (トゥーム・オブ・ザ・ブーム ワン・ツー・スリー, Tūmu Obu Za Būmu Wan Tsū Surī) are the shared Stands of Benjamin, Andre and L.A. Boomboom featured in the seventh part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Steel Ball Run.

It manifests as a trio of magnetic-based Stands bound to each one of the Boomboom family.

Appearance

Tomb of the Boom 2 Infobox Manga.png

Each of the Stands that make up Tomb of the Boom are about half the size of their users, featuring vaguely humanoid upper bodies and slight differences in appearance. Since their physical forms manifest through their ability to manipulate iron sand, they are visible even to non-Stand users.

All three versions possess an elongated face with a long tongue coming out of a small mouth, resembling a giant anteater.[1] Tomb of the Boom 2 and 3 have an open head, revealing an eye-shaped object inside it. Tomb of the Boom 1 instead has hood-like metallic bars over its head.

The shape of the lips of each Tomb of the Boom also differs: Tomb of the Boom 1 has thick, puckered lips; Tomb of the Boom 2 is the most anteater-like, with a perpetual smile on its face; Tomb of the Boom 3 has circular, multi-layered lips.

All versions of Tomb of the Boom possess long, sharp fingers, with Tomb of the Boom 3 having four on each hand rather than five. Tomb of the Boom 2's hands are striped.

Tomb of the Boom 2's lower body is a mass of human legs, with some disproportionately small, arranged in such a way that they resemble the legs of a crab. The full bodies of the other two are never shown.

Abilities

Tomb of the Boom is a versatile Stand that allows its user to attack in a variety of ways. The Stand itself is strong enough to deflect bullets from a revolver,[2] but requires a certain level of cooperative strategy to fully utilize its power. Despite their differing appearances, the abilities of each Tomb of the Boom are virtually the same.[1][3]

Magnetism

Tomb of the Boom's Magnetism affecting Gyro

Tomb of the Boom's primary ability is to manipulate iron through the power of magnetism. Each member of the family, Andre,[4] Benjamin[5] and L.A.,[6] are capable of turning any person into a magnet should they make any physical contact. The condition even applies to the family's blood inside or outside their bodies.[7]

Once turned into a magnet, every metal object near the victims will be attracted to them and will sink into their body, causing crippling wounds.[7] If the affected people get far enough from the Boomboom Family, the magnetism weakens,[5] but if they sufficiently approach a victim, the magnetism is so powerful that the victims' bodies will rip themselves apart.[8] The magnetism also becomes more lethal depending on the number of affected people in close proximity of each other.[2]

Iron Manipulation

Tomb of the Boom destroying Gyro's Steel Ball

As an extension of its magnetic power, Tomb of the Boom grants its user a certain degree of transformative metal manipulation. This includes being able to sink metal objects into its user's skin in order to replicate the appearance of another person, or spawn metal blades from any part of a person's body.[5]

Tomb of the Boom made of iron sand

The Stand can violently shred metallic objects in its user's immediate proximity, as demonstrated through Benjamin's negation of Gyro's Steel Balls.[7] It can also take out immediate targets by pulling out the iron in their bloodstream, tearing through their carotid artery.[9]

In addition, Tomb of the Boom can gather and manipulate iron sand from the ground.[6] Due to its fluid nature, the sand is able to immobilize targets by binding their limbs and form into a physical embodiment of Tomb of the Boom.[6] L.A. is shown drawing the Stand's head on the ground before manipulating the area's sand, though it is unknown whether this is a necessary part of the ability.[6]
