Shinobu Kawajiri
Shinobu Kawajiri (川尻 しのぶ) is a character appearing in Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable. She is a housewife and the mother of Hayato.
Appearance/Personality
Shinobu has shown a personality that is closer to that of a younger woman rather than that of a responsible mother, detesting her marriage and feeling the thrill of adventure when the disguised Kira "steals" money from the landlord renting their house. Later, when Hayato begins to take on Kira and Bite the Dust on his own, he gives her a goodbye kiss, leaving her significantly touched by her son's change in personality, as she begins to change as well. She has, according to herself, the type of character that is usually liked by cats.
Synopsis
History
Shinobu´s friends were envious of her relationship with Kosaku Kawajiri, so she married him because of the superior feeling she felt over them. She didn't really love him, their son Hayato Kawajiri not being a ¨fruit of love¨. After years of staying in a passionless marriage, she has grown to resent her husband Kosaku, and would have divorced a long time ago if it wasn't for their son. She also wasn't close to her son, not knowing who his friends are or what he likes to do, but they both love each other.
Diamond is Unbreakable
Shinobu's feelings for Kosaku changes when, unbeknownst to her, Yoshikage Kira takes on his appearance in an attempt to hide from Josuke Higashikata. In a attempt to blend in Kosaku´s family, Kira starts to treat her well, and Shinobu suddenly sees herself harboring romantic feelings towards her spouse after many years.
Shinobu eventually encounters Gatta in the cellar of her house. Trying to scare it away, Shinobu accidentally broke wine bottles, shards of it killing the cat. Wanting vengeance, Gatta, reincarnated in the stand Stray Cat, attacked her by ripping off one of her toenails from her feet using its ability. Shinobu was eventually saved by Kira. After Kira was killed Hayato didn't have courage to tell her that Kosaku was dead, so Shinobu waited for him to come back home.
