is the fourth chapter of The Lives of Eccentrics series, written by Hirohiko Araki and illustrated by Hirohisa Onikubo. It was originally published in the March issue of Ultra Jump on February 19, 2003.<br />
<br />
==Summary==<br />
The story begins in 1976, Miami Florida. The promoter Kou Yoshio (aged 39) accompanies Oliver, a man with 47 chromosomes to Japan. With humans having 46 chromosomes and chimpanzees 48, Oliver is purported as a missing link which may allow crossbreeding between man and ape. Despite looking like a shaved chimpanzee, Oliver is undeniable human-like traits. Oliver was found in Congo and Yoshio brought it to Japan to enact a crossbreeding test, making it a formidable story for the media. When Yoshio proposed the experiment, he already had a young actress volunteered for it. With this bizarre experiment, Koshio hopes to catch the world's attention.<br />
<br />
Kou Yoshio was born in 1937 in Tokyo from a japanese mother and a chinese father. Despite his mixed blood, Koshio was only discriminated but never bullied because of his forcefulness and his sinister gaze. Conflicted about Japan, Koshio was angry at how the Japanese acted after losing WWII, and began working with a yakuza group during his years in high school. He managed to set up a profitable food delivery business but he was changed after seeing an audience entranced by the obviously fake spectacle of the snake woman. Thus he began his career as a showman.<br />
<br />
He began with bringing russian shows to Japan, financing his shows with the hidden money of rich people who wanted to hide it from tax collectors. Ensues a long string of shows and books that cemented Koshio's reputation. In 1977, Koshio tried to organize a fight between a tiger and a karateka in Haiti, although the show was cancelled by the authorities at the last minute.<br />
<br />
Back to 1976, Oliver and Koshio have arrived in Japan. The crossbreeding was set up in a hotel. However, at the last moment, Koshio received confirmation that Oliver had 48 chromosomes and was a chimpanzee. Thus, he stopped the experiment. The whole affair became a scandal that made the front pages of newspapers. While Koshio said that he stopped the experiment because it was too bizarre, in private, Koshio had been aiming for this result and knew that the reveal would attract even more attention. In the end, his aim was to ridicule japanese society and have a ridiculous headline on their newspapers.<br />
<br />
As of 2002, Koshio's business was supplanted by specialized advertising companies but he is still quite wealthy.<br />

The Brothers Nobody Knew: Collyer Brothers is the third chapter of The Lives of Eccentrics series, written by Hirohiko Araki and illustrated by Hirohisa Onikubo. It was originally published in the second issue of Manga Allman in 2002.<br />
<br />
==Summary==<br />
The story narrates the life of the Collyer Brothers: Homer (born 1881) and Langley (born 1885). Although they attained notoriety, they accomplished exactly nothing of note except hoarding goods in their home.<br />
<br />
Their life is narrated through a series of interviews. A merchant recalls selling to the Langley a car, although he doesn't know what Langley did with the vehicle afterwards. An old woman named Ms. Bender recalled that she was engaged to Homer, but that he abruptly ended their relationship. A real estate agent explains how the Collyer brothers lived in Harlem, which was (at the time) a rich neighbourhood; but that the influx of black people drove the elite away. One of Langley's old classmates then shares that the Collyer brothers' father, a doctor, abandoned his family. This caused the brothers to disconnect themselves from the world. Finally, a shopkeeper narrates how he dealt with the brothers and used to sell them more than a hundred oranges each week to cure Homer's blindness; Langley then stopped buying oranges, and bought newspapers instead.<br />
<br />
It is revealed that the interviewers are a duo of burglars who are interested in the Collyer brothers and their family fortune. Convinced that the brothers are hiding a huge fortune in spite of their strange way of life, the leader of the pair decides to sneak in the house with his acolyte. After breaking the front door open, the burglars find the entryway barred by a massive array of furniture, which the leader interprets as a barricade against intruders. With all the windows barred and the backdoor blocked, the burglars must find a way through the furniture.<br />
<br />
The acolyte finds a tunnel behind a drawer, but it is revealed to be a trap covered in cacti. When they finally cross the first barrier, the acolyte finds a dollar bill on the floor. When he tries to pick it up, however, his finger is bitten by a rat that was formerly trapped under the bill. Angered, the acolyte decides to go first through a tight passage, just so that he can reach the Collyer brothers first and get revenge for himself. However, he steps on a piano key, triggering yet another trap - causing an ice pick to pierce his leg, and subsequently releasing a bundle of firecrackers which fall into and explode inside of his mouth. As the acolyte gesticulates, he triggers another trap, and is covered in a flammable liquid. After surviving the subsequent explosion, the leader manages to reach the Collyer brothers' room. However, when he opens the door, he discovers the corpse of Homer; and in the process, triggers a final trap, causing him to be crushed by a falling car.<br />
<br />
When the police finally investigated the house, they found Homer's corpse and determined that he had died of starvation. For his part, Langley had been killed by one of his own traps. The value of all their possessions was estimated to be 100,000 dollars from the sales of their property - and, subsequently, the money was given to a family relative.<br />
<br />
For unknown reason, the story jumps to a doctor who recalls an incident in which a man had to see her wife die from diabetes. To preserve his tranquility, he hid his wife's death and buried her beneath his house. He wasn't found out until years afterwards.<br />

==Trivia==<br />
<br />
*A running theme in the Stand abilities of main antagonists is the power to manipulate time and/or space at some point. The World stops time, Killer Queen Bites the Dust loops time, King Crimson erases time, Made in Heaven accelerates the flow of time, and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap travels through parallel dimensions. This pattern stems from Araki's belief that the main antagonist should be overpowered and that if one were able to control space and time they would be unstoppable.<br />
*The Stands of each protagonist follow a naming convention of special materials: platinum, diamond, gold, stone, bone, and flesh (Star Platinum, Crazy Diamond, Gold Experience, Stone Free, Tusk, and Soft & Wet respectively). The exception to this is Joseph Joestar's Hermit Purple (although by the time he obtains it in Stardust Crusaders he is no longer the primary protagonist).<br />
*In JoJolion, the stands in the Higashikata Family all have King in their names. (Paper Moon King, Nut King Call, King Nothing, California King Bed, Speed King, Walking Heart, Awaking III Leaves, Space Trucking)<br />
**While Josuke Higashikata, adopted into the family, does not fall into this pattern, one of his components' stands is named Killer Queen, whose name bearing Queen is a counterpart to the Higashikata's Kings.<br />
*In Stardust Crusaders, most of the first Stands introduced are named after the Major Arcana of the Tarot (early on, also modified by a color or metal name). Rider-Waite-Smith numbering is also used (the Justice card visual manifestation features the number eleven). Later on, the remaining Stands excluding The World, Cream, and Tenore Sax are named after Egyptian deities.<br />
*In Diamond is Unbreakable, certain Stands are revealed to have emerged from contact with the Bow and Arrow.<br />
*In Stone Ocean, Stand Discs are introduced via Whitesnake's ability, bringing powers to anybody compatible with a Stand, and, as with a few cases, making it possible to obtain a second Stand temporarily.<br />
*In Steel Ball Run, Stands are only developed when somebody is affected by the Devil's Palm or makes contact with the Saint's Corpse. Most of the Stands in this story do not overtly fight in battles but provide their users with powers instead.<br />
*The running theme for Stand names in JORGE JOESTAR is movie titles. For example, Funny Valentine37's Stand is named after the film Singing in the Rain (film), Secco's Stand is named after the film The Evil Dead, and Jonathan Joestar's Stand is named after the film The Passion of the Christ (which is often shortened to "The Passion", thus the Stand's name).<br />

Josuke is a young, physically fit man of above-average height. Josuke has a Diastema (dentistry) between his upper incisors and a star-shaped birthmark on his left shoulder. He has two sets of irises, four testicles, and two tongues, all joined as one, differing in texture and color. After consuming a vial of Locacaca 6251, multiple patches of skin on Josuke's upper body and face turned to stone, with one that gradually covers more and more of his left eye. The rock covering his left eye later comes off after being attacked by Obladi Oblada.<br />
<br />
He wears a tasseled "Dixie cup" Josuke's Hat (in multiple illustrations, it is adorned with the same palm insignia as Jotaro Kujo's hat). The brand of his hat is "SBR" (a reference to the Steel Ball Run race). He wears a sailor suit, cut with a wide neck and above the navel (exposing his birthmark in latter depictions), a neckerchief with a button resembling a slotted screw head, large emblems of an anchor on his right side and a compass rose on his left, fitted pants with a belt, and a pair of high-top athletic shoes (which he mentions to have cost him 7,980 yen). His underwear reads "JOJO" around the waist.<br />
<br />
Yasuho mentions he resembles her dog, Josuke.<br />

<br />
Josuke Higashikata is a quirky amnesiac determined to learn his true identity and his past.<br />
<br />
<br />
Josuke is afflicted by extensive retrograde amnesia, lacking memory of himself or events prior to meeting Yasuho Hirose, but retaining various degrees of knowledge. As such, Josuke is driven to discover who he was by investigating the circumstances of his presence in the beach prior to having been saved by Yasuho. That goal occupies nearly all of his activities, and no action on his part is made without attempting to reach the truth. That drive is sufficiently strong that he was willing to interrupt a rare moment with his love interest Yasuho to investigate Karera Sakunami. After learning about his past identity, Josuke set for himself the new goal of retrieving the Locacaca branch and using the fruit to heal Holy Joestar-Kira. He still demonstrates the same steadfastness in investigating the fruit and the whereabouts of the Locacaca Organization, with the addition of deferring more to Rai Mamezuku's opinions, deeming the plant appraiser's expertise about the fruit worth listening to. His determination to reach his goals is best illustrated when he willingly steps into a rain made deadly by Satoru Akefu's Stand, letting his body be pierced by raindrops, including his head, just to reach the hospital.<br />
<br />
<br />
Josuke seems to have retained certain traits from both of his original identities. At times he displays strong emotions like Josefumi while also being able to analyze situations and strategize like Yoshikage. However, Josuke ultimately considers himself separate from both, being neither Kira or Josefumi as he doesn't have memories from either man nor did anyone from Josefumi's past look for him. It causes him to question what he really is and consider his identity to be nebulous. Nonetheless, he felt a strong sadness when he first saw Holy Joestar-Kira, meaning he has also retained subconscious memories strong enough to still feel attachment to her.<br />
<br />
While Josuke can be violent at times, he also has a degree of restraint toward enemies he doesn't need to kill. On multiple occasions he has asked members of the Higashikata family for permission before pursuing an enemy that relates to them, and he even kept his promise to not harm Jobin while trying to get information about the Locacaca out of him. However, Josuke is willing to defend himself and the people he knows from anyone who wishes to harm them. Unlike his counterpart Jotaro, Josuke isn't disturbed at the idea of hitting women and readily knocked out Kei when she attacked him. Josuke is not afraid to threaten to kill, and he indeed killed Tamaki Damo in cold-blood in retaliation for threatening his adoptive family, though his main goal of discovering his identity means that killing his aggressors is counterproductive. That killing intent is easily triggered when someone hurts Yasuho. Josuke has also proven to be proficient at manipulating people, notably Jobin with whom he would adopt a more nonchalant persona to seem harmless. Apart from that, Josuke approaches his task calmly and methodically.<br />
<br />
Josuke is relatively polite and has been shown to strongly value familial relationships. Being amnesiac, Josuke places a great emphasis on one's family and legacy, wishing to learn his own past. The fact that no one came looking for him while hospitalized deeply unnerves him, to the point he can shed tears at the thought, and Josuke honors Norisuke Higashikata's adoption of him, considering himself a part of the Higashikatas. When Karera rejects her own parents, Josuke comments that they would never get along. He's not only willing to defend his adoptive family, but he strongly desires to cure Holy of her illness despite not having any memories of her. However, Josuke continues to suspect members of the Higashikata family of working against him. Josuke cares for Yasuho on a stronger level than even his family, and any threat to her well-being greatly angers him. In fact, during his battle with Yotsuyu Josuke is shown to possess a similar type of willpower to Johnny Joestar's "dark determination." However, when it comes to his goals, Josuke is straight to the point and hardly tolerates any circling around the subject. For instance, he didn't hesitate to directly ask Norisuke if he killed Yoshikage Kira, forcing the latter to explain his motives.<br />
<br />
<br />
Despite all this, Josuke also has a certain number of humorous quirks. He seems to be totally oblivious when it comes to mundane things while at the same time retaining in-depth knowledge of animal and plant species. Josuke prefers sleeping underneath a whole mattress rather than the bed sheets for "increased compression." He also regularly spills food he enjoys. During his earlier interactions with Yasuho, Josuke would pry on her breast size offhandedly, measuring it by sight (a trait that he probably gained from Yoshikage, as Holy was shown to possess a similar skill). Josuke has also demonstrated a more childish side, implanting his hair into Joshu and Hato Higashikata for fun. Whenever the mood is right, Josuke seems to have fun declaring his victory. He notably consciously poses after outsmarting the population of Shakedown Road and also smugly claimed his win against Jobin in a stag beetle fight.<br />
<br />
==Abilities==<br />
===Stand===<br />
Soft & Wet<br />
<br />
Soft & Wet is Josuke's Stand. Initially belonging to Josefumi, Josuke retains it after the fusion with Kira, albeit with some minor differences.<br />
<br />
Its primary ability ("Plunder") is to steal some aspect or property of a target; to be contained in one or more small soap bubbles (bearing the image of his birthmark), which may be returned or transferred to other objects. This ability has been used both offensively and strategically.<br />
Soft & Wet also demonstrates above-average strength and the capacity for rapid melee attack common to humanoid Stands.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Like himself, Josuke's Stand is described as a fusion of Yoshikage Kira's Killer Queen and the original Soft & Wet belonging to Josefumi Kujo.<br />
<br />
<br />
During his fight with Yotsuyu Yagiyama, Josuke decides to "use [his] soap bubbles for offense rather than defense..." Soft & Wet is shown to be able to surround and contain objects by creating a soap bubble and punching it into said object. The bubble bursts but then reforms around the target; Josuke is then able to make the bubble and object inside float anywhere he wants to, just like his regular soap bubbles.<br />
<br />
By combining strikes with his bubbles, he is able to "inject" one of his soap bubbles into the flesh of his opponents, causing superficial damage when he pops them. The explosive property of the bubbles was first demonstrated against the A. Phex Brothers and described by them as being very similar to Kira's ability.<br />
<br />
===Personal Skills===<br />
<br />
*Sight: Josuke possesses exceptional sight, being capable of accurately describing the dimensions of organic objects such as humans and trees from afar (a trait shared with Holy Joestar-Kira). Moreover he seems to have a wide field of view, spotting movement at his feet's level despite looking away.<br />
*Hand-to-hand combat: Josuke demonstrates a natural affinity towards hand to hand combat, having fluidly blocked and struck an opponent in one swift motion, augmenting the damage his blow causes with the powers of his Stand. He is also capable of displaying high reflexes and fast reaction speed common of experienced fighters.<br />
*Intelligence: Josuke is an extremely proficient tactician in a fight. He is able to use his Stand to various effects and predict his opponents next moves easily. Josuke is a methodical individual, having quickly deduced Born This Way's powers via simple experimentation, as well as taking advantage of Les Feuilles's characteristics despite seeing them in action only recently. Out of combat, Josuke is thorough in his investigation, being careful about covering his tracks. He has also displayed proficient skill in mathematics, having easily solved a trigonometry problem given to him by Joshu.<br />
<br />
==Relationships==<br />
Josuke's first contact is with Yasuho Hirose, his discoverer. He lives in the Higashikata family household after tentative adoption by Norisuke Higashikata IV.<br />
<br />
===Love Interest===<br />
<br />
*Yasuho Hirose: Josuke holds Yasuho in special regard, as the first person he has ever met or known. Yasuho's casually considerate nature with Josuke in the first instance is to have naturally built with his trust. Yasuho in return is able to appreciate his innocence and empathize with his sadness over having no family. They seemingly hold romantic feelings for one another, and the proof of their romantic progression can be seen during the Love Love Deluxe arc where, after meeting up, the two begin holding hands and look like they are on a date. Yasuho helps him gather information on his identity and Josuke in turn protects her, becoming enraged when someone tries to harm her in any way. She is the only person Josuke whole-heartedly trusts.<br />
<br />
===Adoptive Family===<br />
Josuke was adopted into the Higashikata household, thus bearing their family name "Higashikata". At first suspicious of them as a whole, their quirky demeanor and subsequent reveals about their motives made him open up toward them, and Josuke wishes to honor the family's kindness, making efforts not to antagonize them, at least openly.<br />
<br />
*Norisuke Higashikata IV: Josuke's adoptive father. Mutually suspicious; Josuke's natural curiosity as to his origins and Norisuke's intentions carries him beyond the boundaries set for him by the Higashikata patriarch as condition to his residence at the family home, which Norisuke appears to have offered under ulterior motives. He reveals that he knows Josuke has some link to Yoshikage Kira who had information on how to cure the family and for that reason adopted Josuke in hopes of acquiring that information. Norisuke later reveals himself as an ally, and the two hold a mutual trust for one another. Norisuke still places his family above all else, but seems to have grown to care for Josuke as family and even a possible surrogate son (one main example being when Damo tortures Norisuke to get information about Josefumi and Kira from him. While he knows Josuke is somehow involved, he does not rat on him until Damo threatens to kill his family. Even during this, Norisuke breaks down crying and sincerely apologizes to Josuke for not being able to protect him, showing the depth of his care).<br />
<br />
*Daiya Higashikata: Josuke's adoptive younger sister. After engaging Josuke with her Stand, Daiya expresses arousal for him, which Josuke acknowledges to an extent while in a state of diminished responsibility. Upon her defeat, he extends his friendship in recognition of the personal virtues she expressed during their engagement, with Daiya pledging a degree of assistance in his inquiries. Daiya is constantly clinging to Josuke and he partially returns her affection, at the very least considering her a friend and watching out for her well-being.<br />
<br />
*Joshu Higashikata: Josuke's adoptive brother. Emotionally immature and unstable, Joshu perceives the sight of the newly-conscious Josuke lying nude on the ground next to Yasuho as an insult, becoming enraged and attacking Josuke with lethal force before he is subdued. Joshu retains a powerful sense of insult at Josuke's interruption in his relationship with Yasuho and his family. Paired by Norisuke while travelling to school together, Josuke exerts an arms-length reception of Joshu, who persistently curses and discriminates against him.<br />
<br />
*Jobin Higashikata: Josuke's adoptive older brother. Although they seem to have a cordial relationship, Josuke and Jobin are technically enemies and recognize each others as threats. Josuke was first interested in Jobin because of his mysterious relationship with the Locacaca. He prepared to fight him, but settled for tricking him into revealing himself in several gambles about beetle fights. During these gamble, Josuke faked a more friendly and smug demeanor, ultimately leading Jobin to suspect foul play.<br />
<br />
*Tsurugi Higashikata: Josuke's adoptive nephew. Tsurugi initially tried to kill Josuke because Yotsuyu promised him a cure for his rock disease if he helped him. Despite this, Josuke doesn't seem to wish harm on Tsurugi partially understanding Tsurugi's fear of his disease. He has manipulated information on Tsurugi's father Jobin out of Tsurugi by urgency and mentioning his father hiding secrets that could cure him. Josuke is willing to use Tsurugi but seems to still care for his safety as he was worried when he was attacked by Aisho and went to him to make sure he was ok, showing the two are at least on amiable terms.<br />
<br />
*Hato Higashikata: Josuke's adoptive older sister. The two initially do not have much interaction, especially since Josuke is mainly focused on finding more about his past. Despite this, the two seem to get along fine as she was worried when Josuke was trying to use a razor and told Joshu to teach him how to use it properly. When Damo is attacking the family, Hato initially can't believe it and when he attacks both her and Josuke, Josuke uses his bubbles to protect her, implying he cares for her as a friend. The two even worked well together fighting and defeating Damo.<br />
<br />
===Allies===<br />
<br />
*Rai Mamezuku: An ally due to his connection with Norisuke along with being the plant appraiser that could tell where the branch of the Locacaca fruit tree is, he becomes Josuke's ally when enemies begin to try to capture him due to his abilities and seeks Josuke's protection. While the two are not on friendly terms, they get along well enough.<br />
<br />
===Past Affiliations===<br />
<br />
*Karera Sakunami: Josuke initially didn't recognize Karera at first, however she insisted that she knew him before. Karera refers to him by the mysterious name "Setchan" and leaves before Josuke can obtain more information on his identity. Obtaining her name using Soft & Wet, Josuke lies to her about Yasuho in a failed attempt to retrieve more information. After showing Josuke an old picture on her cellphone of her, Kira and a mysterious other boy she reveals that Josuke's identity is that of Josefumi Kujo - the other boy in the photo. Rebuked by her manners and her willingness to let go of her past, he comments that they will never get along.<br />
<br />
*Josefumi Kujo: Josuke discovered that he is Josefumi Kujo with part of the deceased Yoshikage Kira's corpse fused to his body. He seemed to have a friendly relationship with Karera Sakunami, as Kira, Josefumi and Karera appeared in a photo together. Josuke seems to retain certain traits from his previous identity as Josefumi, particularly his feelings and emotions along with a similar feeling of loneliness stemming from abandonment issues. Josuke wonders why no one from his previous identity's past is searching for him, leading him to regard his existence as nebulous.<br />
<br />
*Yoshikage Kira: The other half of Josuke's body. On the verge of death, Josefumi fed Kira a Locacaca, resulting in parts of Kira's body being fused to Josefumi's. He and Yasuho went to his apartment to find clues on Josuke's identity but initially found nothing as Sasame confirmed he was not Kira. The two also found his body buried. Despite seeming to have hit a road bump, Kei later confirms Josuke is a combination of Kira and another person (later revealed to be Josefumi). Josuke seems to get his trademark outfit and part of his stand abilities from Kira, along with possibly some of his personality traits such as his shrewd manipulative intelligent mind, his drive to succeed in his goals, and loyalty to friends and family. After his encounter with Tamaki Damo, Josuke comes to terms with Josefumi as his previous identity and half of his body being that of Kira's. He inherits his motivation to acquire the Locacaca to save Holy Joestar-Kira, identifying her as his mother.<br />
<br />
*Kei Nijimura: Initially he did not interact with her. However, when she learned he was trying to investigate Holy and her connection to Yoshikage Kira, Kei intervened using her stand Born this Way and nearly killing him in the process. When he defeated her with help from Paisley Park, she confessed she was Kira's sister and was only working for the Higashikatas (whom she hated) to investigate what happened to her brother and reveals herself as an ally. She has him promise not to see Holy Joestar-Kira which he agrees to, upon seeing her break down and cry and not wanting to hurt her or Holy. The two seem to be on better terms.<br />
<br />
*Holy Joestar-Kira: When he discovered she was Kira's mother, he tried to investigate her but was stopped by Kei who had him promise not to bother her. Despite this, upon hearing about her condition from Yasuho he felt partially sorry for her and realizes she did not come to pick up her son because of her dementia. He also learns of her connection to the Higashikatas, making him more suspicious of them. When he later visited her, Josuke soon found out that her condition worsened, as she ate some of her fingers before the hospital had to restrain her. Recognizing her as his mother, even after accepting Josefumi as his previous identity, Josuke becomes intent on completing Yoshikage's mission and curing Holy's illness with the locacaca.<br />
<br />
===Enemies===<br />
<br />
*Ojiro Sasame: Ojiro was struck with misfortune from both of Josuke's former identities, particularly with Kira who had supposedly convinced him to eat his own fingers while drunk. Ojiro would later attack Josuke, thinking he was Kira and would later be taken out.<br />
*Yotsuyu Yagiyama: As a member of the Locacaca Organization, Yotsuyu was an enemy of Josuke's and both of his former identities. After a confrontation, Yotsuyu ended up being unintentionally killed by Josuke, due to his Rock Human biology.<br />
*Tamaki Damo: Damo was originally unaware of Josuke's identity and presumed him to be a freeloader at the Higashikata household. He came to the Higashikata estate in search of Josefumi. Upon discovering Josuke is Josefumi, Damo saw him as an enemy but marveled at the miraculous new potential for the Locacaca. Josuke treated Damo as a dangerous enemy and made sure to kill him, even after he pleaded to help save his mother.<br />
*Dolomite: Dolomite is an assassin hired Jobin to kill Josuke. Using his Stand powers, Dolomite infects several people, before possessing Josuke himself. Dolomite attempted to make Josuke drown himself before being stopped by Yasuho.<br />
*The Head Doctor: Operating as the head of Morioh's TG University Hospitial and the secret mastermind of the handling of fruit smuggling in the town, he holds a decent amount of control. Pursuing him activates his Wonder of U, which causes Josuke and his allies along with the Higashikata Family much torment. It is revealed that The Head Doctor is not Satoru Akefu but actually the illusive Tooru, who has stolen the former doctor's identity and given it to the aged appearence of his stand. Tooru has deep connections with Josuke because as The Head Doctor he forces Holy Joestar-Kira, Josuke's mother through his former identity as Kira, to undergo experiments with locacaca. Tooru is also deeply connected to Josuke's allies, having kept tabs on Yasuho Hirose since she was young after she used her stand to identify Satoru Akefu for Tooru and later dating her. Tooru heavily impacted Rai's life as well because Wonder of U and a rock insect played part in his father and mother's deaths as well as his own decades later.<br />

==Trivia==<br />
<br />
*The Suke in his name may also be pronounced as Jo.<br />
*When he is given the name "Josuke Higashikata", his name is written in a different kanji (定助 instead of 仗助) than that of the Part 4 protagonist's (of note is that this name is pronounced the same as Norisuke IV's birth name).<br />
*Josuke was originally going to have the Stand ability to attach screws to something, but Araki changed his mind and gave that to Joshu.<br />
*Foreign fans often refer to him as Jo2uke, Jo8uke, Josuk8, or Gappy (in reference to the distinct gap in his teeth) to avoid confusion with the other Josuke.<br />
*Josuke's voice actor in the Bandai Namco video games, Mitsuaki Madono, also voices Rubber Soul in the 1999 fighting game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future.<br />
*After Josuke undergoes Equivalent Exchange from the 6251, the rock over his left eye is very similar to the appearance of Baoh's left eye, also covered by stone. Additionally, the rock on Josuke's chest may be in reference to Jotaro Kujo, as it bears a resemblance to the chain Jotaro wears on his jacket.<br />

<br />
Holy Joestar-Kira is a secondary ally featured in the eighth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, JoJolion. She is introduced in the ""Paisley Park" and "Born This Way"" story arc.<br />
<br />
Holy is a world-renowned Ophthalmology from T.H. Medical University Hospital and associate professor at Morioh's T.G. University. She is the wife of Yoshiteru Kira and mother of Yoshikage Kira and Kei Nijimura.<br />
<br />
==Appearance==<br />
Holy is a middle-aged woman of Western ancestry. Still having a youthful look, Holy has long brown hair. She is depicted with blue eyes in the colored manga.<br />
<br />
Holy wears a hoodie complete with a cape over undisclosed clothes, of which only the collar decorated with a capital "H" and the legs, covered in square metallic plates are revealed. She also has a white hat decorated with flowers and another "H". She was initially depicted as having sunglasses.<br />
<br />
After her affliction worsens, part of Holy's body has turned into a massive chunk of stone that moves across her body. Holy has taken to write on herself to keep important information within reach. Among other things, she has scribbled graduation on herself to measure the time she has left before the moving chunk of rock reaches her head, which makes her lose consciousness.<br />
<br />
==Personality==<br />
Holy suffers from an unknown type of mental disorder that makes her mistake people for objects, for instance, mistake a nurse for a pair of shoes. This is explained by the fact that parts of her brain are missing, although it is then revealed that she was the subject of inhuman trials conducted by the Locacaca Organization, who turned parts of her into rock. While under medical care, she can interact normally, capable of addressing Yasuho as another human being although she exhibits difficulties in reacting to what her interlocutor says. For instance, she ignores for a moment the fact that Yasuho came to inquire about her son.<br />
<br />
Flashbacks at different periods show a gradual deterioration of her mental state. When she saved Josefumi Kujo, Holy acted normally. When Yasuho was 13, she displayed mild symptoms as she approached Yasuho out of the blue and offered insightful remarks, although it made little sense to Yasuho. At the time Josefumi and Kira were cultivating the Locacaca, she had trouble differentiating Josefumi from Kira but when reminded of it, she somewhat returned to her senses. Holy shows a certain fondness for reading. At one point in the past, Holy recommended the novel The Rose of Versailles to Josefumi, but by the beginning of the series she seems to have regressed to looking at racy magazines. Soon, her condition and mental state worsen to the point she tries to eat her own fingers off and can't seem to recognize people anymore.<br />
<br />
In her rare moments of relative consciousness, Holy demonstrates that she's knowledgeable, wise and insightful. After meeting with Yasuho, Holy does notice the girl's Stand and correctly guesses that she can be a valuable ally to her son and shows a belief in Fate. When she meets with Josuke, she is able to reveal practically everything she knows about the Locacaca Organization, has the presence of mind of bringing him to the Locacaca6251's secret vault to administer it, and gives a crucial hint to Josuke in order to approach Satoru Akefu without pursuing him.<br />
In the past, she was shown to be a compassionate, dedicated doctor who was determined to save people, at one point doing everything in her power to save a dying Josefumi and imploring Kira to help save him. Even when she's mentally ill, Holy is quite amiable and likes to have conversations with everyone.<br />
<br />
During her first appearance, Holy also exhibits a capacity to measure distances precisely with the naked eye, the same way Josuke measured lengths.<br />
<br />
Holy holds her son Yoshikage in high regard, despite his disposition and attitude.<br />

Holy is implied to have a Stand or an ability of a similar nature as she was capable of seeing Paisley Park during Yasuho Hirose's TG University Hospital visit. She also seemingly recognized what it was and commented on how Yasuho was using it subconsciously.<br />

===Medical Background===<br />
As a former ophthalmologist at T.H. Medical University Hospital and an associate professor at Morioh's T.G. University, Holy is presumably a recognized expert in the medical field and seasoned doctor of ocular treatment. In a flashback, she is portrayed as an emergency room practitioner who was capable of diagnosing Josefumi's condition and knew how to stabilize it through the use of her son's Stand ability. She is also noted to have had some background in the Locacaca fruit having created a laboratory solely for researching it.<br />
<br />
==History==<br />
===Background===<br />
<br />
Holy is the mother of Kira8, making this Kira a direct descendant of Johnny Joestar. Holy Joestar-Kira is revealed to have been an ophthalmologist who worked at the T.H. Medical University Hospital from 1998-2008 before becoming a guest professor at TG University. <br />
<br />
In the late 1990s, Holy was serving as an emergency room doctor when the young Josefumi Kujo was brought into the hospital after an accident that has left him with a possibly fatal blood clot. She asked her son to use his Stand Killer Queen to remove the blood clot, saving the young Josefumi's life. This would leave Josefumi indebted to the Kira family, leading to Yoshikage and Josefumi scheming together to steal a branch of the Locacaca Tree to possibly cure Holy of the mysterious Higashikata family Rock Disease, and ultimately to the creation of Josuke Higashikata from the bodies and minds of Yoshikage Kira and Josefumi Kujo.<br />
<br />
Holy created the hidden Locacaca lab at TG University Hospital. However, she failed in her research. Holy witnessed the Locacaca Organization infiltrating the hospital and she began to suffer from memory losses and blackouts, gradually weakening over time. Nonetheless, Holy managed to learn a lot about the organization. It is shown that already when Yasuho was 13, Holy was feeling the first symptoms of the Rock Disease. Holy met Yasuho after Yasuho performed a suicide attempt, and offered her cryptic advice about not overlooking things and only look inward. She is currently a patient at the TG University Hospital, which is the reason she was not present to identify her son's corpse after he died.<br />
<br />
==="Paisley Park" and "Born This Way"===<br />
When Yasuho visits her, Holy is creeping up towards her on the ground and startles her, similar to Josuke in his introduction. Yasuho tries to ask Holy about Yoshikage Kira, but before she can get an answer, she is escorted out by a nurse and two Security Guards. As Yasuho is removed from the room, Holy pays special attention to her shadow, which had, unbeknownst to Yasuho, taken a different, Stand-like form. When Yasuho is brought back to the hospital, she sees a group of doctors talking to Holy, and examining her CAT scans which show parts of her internal organs and her brain missing with almost surgical precision, despite not having any scars from previous surgeries. This happens all while Holy is trying to use a nurse like a pair of boots and a magazine, showing that whatever has happened to her has given her a form of dementia.<br />
<br />
===Dawn of the Higashikata Household===<br />
<br />
At the hospital, Josuke sees Holy, unconscious and strapped to her bed, and more worryingly, put into a dusty room in a neglected aisle of the hospital. He accosts a doctor, outraged by the living conditions of Holy. When the doctor asks him if he is a relative, Josuke confirms that he is Holy's son. At this answer, the doctor then explains that no one has paid her medical expenses since August which her insurances didn't cover. The doctor adds that Holy's condition took a turn for the worse as she began to hallucinate her fingers as food and ate six of them, forcing the doctors to strap her and sedate her. Finally, her treatment only delayed the progress of her illness, and until someone pays the fees amounting to 120,000 yen per night, the hospital won't resume her treatment. Observing Holy, Josuke is overcome by sadness, recognizing her as his mother and sorry for her state. Still crying, Josuke promises to the doctor that the fees will be paid. Josuke then promises himself to go find the Locacaca to cure her.<br />
<br />
===The Wonder of You (The Miracle of Your Love)===<br />
During her stay, Holy's illness worsened to the point that a great mass of rock is moving across her body, putting her in a coma whenever it reaches her brain. To calculate what time she had left between each coma, Holy has marked her entire body with grades and numbers to measure how close the rock is to her brain. When Josuke is brought to the hospital, Holy senses his arrival and wakes up to go look for him. Mistaking Josuke for her son, Holy brings Josuke to room A2 in the gynaecology department where the organization has kept vials of Locacaca 6251. Holy tells Josuke to stay away from Satoru Akefu but he remains determined to chase after him. Josuke's lips and nose are turned into stone and he almost suffocates but Holy manages to pour more medicine into his mouth through a hole. Before losing consciousness for good, Holy gives one last bit of advice: to not directly pursue Akefu but to make him do the pursuing. As she goes into a coma, Holy expresses her wish to see her son again.<br />
<br />
Holy is brought to her room and at one point, Kei arrives to take care of her. As Yasuho Hirose calls Kei and tells her to find Josuke, Kei notices that Holy has preemptively written notes on herself that also tell Kei to go find Josuke and where he is. <br />
<br />
After Wonder of U flees, Josuke walks over to Holy's room and takes a moment to think about her, Rai, and Kei<br />

<br />
Lucy Steel, born Lucy Pendleton is a major ally featured in the 7th part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Steel Ball Run. She also appears briefly in the 8th part, JoJolion.<br />
<br />
Lucy is the wife of the Steel Ball Run race promoter, Steven Steel. She eventually discovers Funny Valentine's plan for the race and, fearing for her husband's safety, decides to cooperate with the Joestar Group.<br />
<br />
Later, after being exposed to the Corpse, she becomes a temporary Stand user, having been granted Ticket to Ride.<br />
<br />
==Appearance==<br />
Lucy is a fourteen-year-old girl of average height and build. She has light, medium-length hair and an outfit generally consisting of a dress and striped tights. She also wears arm warmers and tall boots, both adorned with circular decorations.<br />
<br />
Later, after she is kidnapped by Funny Valentine, her outfit is simplified to only a dress and pair of pumps, and her hair is slightly longer than before. During her final appearance, Lucy is seen wearing a hood, while also regaining her arm warmers and boots but without any tights underneath.<br />

<br />
==Personality==<br />
<br />
Lucy is an intelligent, gentle and courageous girl despite facing many dangerous situations.<br />
<br />
Already apparent in her childhood, Lucy's kindness pushed her to talk to a then derelict Steven Steel, being the first person to support him in his idea of organizing a horserace and also suggesting that it had an enormous scale by making it go across the United States and having a prize in the millions. When Steven repaid her kindness by preventing the mafia from taking her away, Lucy was deeply grateful to Steven, developing a deep relationship with him although it would remain platonic despite everyone else's bias.<br />
<br />
Lucy isn't shown interacting much with other people, usually being rather withdrawn compared to Steven's bombastic public persona. However, she is the only one who knows about his moments of doubt and sadness and during them encourages her husband. When interacting with other people, Lucy usually acts polite and rather meek.<br />
<br />
<br />
As Steven's wife, Lucy is extremely loyal to him and her every action during the course of the Steel Ball Run is performed in order to protect him from danger. As such, despite being a frail and Stand-less person, Lucy constantly throws herself into dangerous actions without hesitation. Not only does she infiltrate several well-protected facilities in order to undermine Funny Valentine, she also has several perilous encounters against Stand Users such as Blackmore, Mike O. or even Diego Brando, all of whom try to kill her. She also plainly rejects Mountain Tim's advances, stating her pride in being Steven's wife.<br />
<br />
Although she is prone to nervousness, Lucy is also an extremely resourceful woman, being adept at tricking people or performing other tricks to escape notice. She knows lip-reading and is a competent actor, which in conjunction with her status as the main promoter's wife, allows her to access several usually secure places. Even on the brink of capture or worse, Lucy can think of ways to escape using all available tools and allies. Lucy is ultimately the one who defeats Diego Brando by bringing his alternate self's head to him, killing him in spite of his formidable Stand. Despite her gentle nature, Lucy also doesn't hesitate to fire at Blackmore or stab Valentine, showing a hidden ruthless side to her.<br />
<br />
==Abilities==<br />
===Stand===<br />
Ticket to Ride<br />
<br />
Funny Valentine identifies Lucy as compatible with the Saint's Corpse and catalyzes a fusion and metamorphosis between the two. A temporary Stand is created after the corpse fuses itself with Lucy, gathering inside her and taking over her bodily functions. While enacted, the Stand provides divine protection, which Funny uses to his advantage during his fight with the protagonists.<br />

===Lip-reading===<br />
Lucy is a lip reader, enabling her to spy on people and determine what they are saying purely through lip movement. It allowed her to know about the secret message Ringo Roadagain sent to Valentine and intercept it before the President.<br />
<br />
==History==<br />
===Background===<br />
Lucy lived in a family of six siblings and was the second eldest of the bunch. Her father, Adam Pendleton, was a farmer who owned a small land in Oklahoma. At one point, Lucy met Steven Steel on the streets when he was penniless and drunk, listening to him mumbling about his plan of promoting a great horserace. Lucy encouraged him to run it and make as grandiose as could be with a continent-spanning route and a prize in the millions of dollars. Steven scoffed at the girl's ridiculous suggestions and left to drink.<br />
<br />
Lucy's mother, Alice, died at age thirty-seven when Lucy was only twelve, after which the family fell into misfortune. Lucy's father would later contract debt from the mafia and, being unable to bear having his land or eldest son taken from him, offered Lucy to them instead.<br />
<br />
<br />
Then, Steven Steel manifested himself two years after meeting Lucy and ironically was on the verge of accomplishing what Lucy suggested then. Grateful for the girl who gave him a chance to bounce back, Steven went to the Pendleton house to pay back the girl and her father, only to be informed about the Pendleton's situation. It was then that Steven stepped in to repay the favor he owed Lucy. To save Lucy from working as a prostitute for the mafia, Steven told Lucy's father to tell the mafia that Lucy was previously defiled by him. Such a lie was easily believed by the gangsters, who accepted to have Steel repay the debt and Lucy married Steven to complete the lie.<br />
<br />
Indebted to the man, twelve year old Lucy Pendleton tells Steven that she "doesn't mind", and could be his "real wife" someday. Steven denies this firmly, and reassures the young girl that he won't ever lay a hand on her—asking only that she spare him the trouble of "her future boyfriend" being a mafia member. Moved, Lucy develops an intense and platonic bond of trust with Steven in the years leading up to the Steel Ball Run.<br />
<br />
===Steel Ball Run===<br />
<br />
====Following the Steel Ball Run race====<br />
<br />
As Steven Steel's wife, Lucy doesn't involve herself in the race, but nonetheless accompanies her husband to provide him moral support. In San Diego Beach, Lucy accompanies Steven while he oversees the preparation of the race. In private, she is here to reassure him whenever the pressure gets to him and he cries. During the press conference, a journalist tries to inquire about her and the Steel quickly go away. <br />
<br />
She accompanies Steven on the VIP train to follow the racers during the first stage. After the first stage, the Steels are brought to a crime scene where three racers were gruesomely disemboweled. Steven prevents her from seeing this however. It is there that she meets the cowboy Mountain Tim, who gives her flowers and expresses disappointment in her being taken.<br />
<br />
====The true goal of the SBR====<br />
During the 2nd Stage, Lucy formally meets President Funny Valentine when she brings coffee to a meeting between Steven and Valentine. A guard blocks her path, making the coffee pot fall but the coffee pot then mysteriously disappears along with the coffee only to fall from the ceiling thanks to an agent posted on the roof of the train. During the third stage, Lucy then eavesdrops on Valentine talking about the Saint's Corpse. Seeing a Heart merged in the President's chest, Lucy learns that the real goal of the race is to gather eight other such Corpse Parts to complete a corpse. She is almost seen by Valentine when he checks outside of his wagon but manages to hide in another wagon. From there on, Lucy stealthily keeps an eye on Valentine. <br />
<br />
<br />
In Kansas City, she observes the government building where Valentine and Steven are working from across the street and spies on the President with binoculars and lip-reading. Lucy takes note of an incoming message and eventually sees Valentine raising the possibiblity of killing Steven. Fearful for her husband, Lucy decides to work to help the President's enemies. Pretending to deliver a forgotten lunch box, Lucy infiltrates the government building, reaches the rooftop and the aviary where messenger pigeons arrive and intercepts a Ringo's Message from Ringo Roadagain. However, Valentine and one of Valentine's Subordinates, Blackmore arrive. Lucy hastily hides under the aviary and is almost caught, but thankfully the pigeon flies away, distracting the two while she goes down the stairs. However, Blackmore and Valentine realize someone has just stolen the message and raise the alarm. Lucy is soon cornered in an office, with officers banging at the door while Blackmore approaches from the outside, hopping on raindrops. She has no choice but to call Mountain Tim, who immediately comes to her aid. Stuck in the toilet, Lucy is saved from being discovered by Mountain Tim who sneaks through the ventilation system and also enables to fit through there with his Stand, Oh! Lonesome Me. Lucy and Tim take refuge in a hangar. Mountain Tim tries to woo her but she reaffirms her loyalty to Steven. Disappointed, Mountain Tim suggests that she contacts Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli. Lucy deciphers Ringo's message, Lucy reaches the location of the Corpse Part and digs up the Spine, but Blackmore soon catches up with her. <br />
<br />
<br />
Blackmore takes the Spine from Lucy, who seems powerless as she doesn't have a Stand, and tries to call the President. However, a spatial anomaly transports them elsewhere, cutting off the telephone line. At this point, a manifestation of the Corpse's power appears to Blackmore, allowing Lucy to shoot Blackmore and escape toward Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar. She meets them with the Spine, explains how she discovered Valentine's schemes and begs them to help her husband Steven. When Blackmore comes, Lucy is almost killed by having water blades driven into her but Gyro manages to defeat Blackmore, who dies from his wounds. Lucy then reveals what she knows about the President's plot and explains that Valentine has the Heart, making him a Stand User. Gyro shoves Lucy on Johnny's horse and lets loose Lucy's horse to erase any trace of her presence. Gyro enlists her in a plan to steal the Heart from the President and though Lucy wanted to ask for their protection, Gyro tells her that she wouldn't want to live her whole life in fear of reprisal. To protect her husband, Lucy will have to go out to steal the Corpse Part. To help her, Gyro gives her the Right Eye since he still has his Spin mastery. Lucy reluctantly agrees and rejoins her husband without raising attention.<br />
<br />
====Lucy's Mission====<br />
<br />
In Chicago, the investigation on the traitor who interfered in Kansas City closes in on Lucy. Nervous, Lucy enacts her plan. Following Scarlet Valentine, the President's wife, she notices her unique tastes in literature and decides to seduce her. Moreover, Lucy meets Hot Pants, who has guessed that she is the traitor. Hot Pants also helps her, using Cream Starter to give Lucy two doses of an instantaneous sleeping agent as well as a ready-to-use disguise on her face. Lucy thus ostentatiously reads a book that Scarlet has read, enabling her to engage a conversation and seduce the First Lady. <br />
<br />
<br />
In the presidential compound, Lucy shares a moment with Scarlet and puts her to sleep before heading for Valentine's room, where the President supposedly takes his naps. When she reaches the bedroom, Valentine wakes up and the balloon guard dogs created by Tubular Bells are roused by her scent. Lucy disguises herself as Scarlet and manages to put him to sleep. However, Lucy discovers that the President now has many more Corpse Parts than the Heart and the dogs begin to attack, turning back into nails in her body. Worse, Scarlet has come to the bedroom and surprises her. Scarlet draws a gun and shoots Lucy, who tackles the First Lady into the bathroom. Scarlet manages to pin Lucy as the guard dogs approach, but Lucy then sheds her fake skin, misleading the dogs into killing Scarlet. The head of security Mike O. and Hot Pants arrive at the same time and a fight ensues between them. Mike O. is eventually killed by Hot Pants. However, Lucy cannot escape and is forced to disguise herself as Scarlet again. <br />
<br />
Valentine eventually realizes that his wife is not herself. In Philadelphia in Independance Hall, the two participate in a music session. He takes the occasion to confront his "wife", knowing that she is an impostor, and confesses that she is strangely charming. The Right Eye falls out of Lucy's pocket and rolls towards the Corpse' hiding spot in an adjacent room. Valentine notices her interest in the room and in return, she asks him the reason of his interest in the race to change the subject of the conversation. Valentine thus explains himself, his philosophy and how obtaining the Corpse will allow America to stand atop the world.<br />
<br />
<br />
Excited by his speech, Valentine forces himself on "Scarlet", who draws a knife and tries to stab him. Valentine grabs her wrist at first but Lucy surprises him by shedding her disguise. Valentine is shocked to see her and is stabbed in the throat, but surprisingly disappears under a chair only to return, seemingly unscathed. Lucy tries to trick Valentine into following a false trail by dispersing her clothers in the corridor but keeps hiding in the room and sneaks where the Corpse is stored. Lucy tries to seek a way to escape but only finds the Saint's Corpse. It is revealed that Lucy is the host of the Head, pregnant with the Corpse.<br />
<br />
Transported to another room, Lucy regains consciousness when she hears a voice and overhears the presidential aides letting Steven Steel die from his wounds. A voice tells her to "cut" while she tries to escape and is noticed by the aides. Manhandled by the aides who try to inject a sedative in her, Lucy tries to use her tears as a knife, it doesn't accomplish anything directly, but a series of incredible events manage to save her and kill the aides. Lucy transports Steven to a coach and forces the driver to bring them out of the compound, still guided by the voice. To her horror, Lucy eventually arrives to the USS Blue Hawaii, Valentine's ship. The President has been guiding her to him.<br />
<br />
====The End of the Race====<br />
<br />
Lucy is brought to Valentine's ship and tries to leave a message for her allies but Valentine sees it. Lucy expects his fury but Valentine surprisingly swears not to kill Steven. They subsequently depart for New Jersey, eventually taking a train.<br />
<br />
Having absorbed the entire Saint's Corpse, Lucy begins to experience drastic changes and supernatural phenomenons. Her skins sheds as she becomes the Corpse itself and spatial anomalies occur near her. Eventually, Lucy loses consciousness and becomes the Corpse, granting Valentine the ability Love Train. During Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar's battle against Valentine, Steven manages to lift her out of the train and put her in Gyro's care, inadvertently saving Johnny. Johnny eventually defeats Valentine and the Saint's Corpse separates itself from Lucy.<br />
<br />
<br />
After Funny Valentine is defeated at the hands of Johnny and the completed Corpse removed itself from her body, she is reunited with Steven. However, Johnny notices that the Corpse had just been taken by someone working with Funny Valentine and chases after him to reclaim it. Lucy notices that the horse tracks start from the hole Funny Valentine left in his wake and puts together that the thief is in fact Diego Brando from another dimension, whom she plans to confront at the shelter that was made to house the Corpse should Johnny fail to retrieve it first. Lucy finds the alternate Diego in the vault beneath Trinity Church. The World pins Lucy against the wall and Diego checks that no one else is around. Confronting the girl, Diego asks why Lucy is here to which she answers that she crossed the continent for happiness. Diego says that he plans to kill Steven Steel because he knows too much, but lusts after Lucy and plans on making her his woman. However, Lucy give him the severed head of Diego. Realizing the danger, Diego stops time and tries to flee, but his missing leg prevents him from doing that. Furious, Diego tries to kill Lucy instead but the head of the original Diego Brando flies towards him. Diego's head explodes and is disintegrated, killing the jockey. Satisfied, Lucy leaves the vault, her heart at peace.<br />
<br />
===JoJolion===<br />
In 1901, the Saint's Corpse goes missing from its safe as it was stolen by Johnny Joestar. Along with other government officials, Lucy searches for the perpetrator and follows Johnny to Morioh. They eventually find Johnny's corpse underneath a boulder by the twin pines on November 12, a day after he died. Lucy and the others retrieve the corpse in a suitcase with the logo of the Speedwagon Oil Company and take it back with them to America.<br />

Lucy is a minor character in the light novel JORGE JOESTAR. Dio's Beyond causes her womb to miraculously hold a supplemental head for the Saint's Corpse. Shortly after the death of the Parallel World Diego Brando, the head of the original universe Dio Brando suddenly appears by Lucy at Trinity Church. Dio plans to reclaim his body, as his body parts scattered in this universe after his battle with Kars and became what was known as the "Saint's Corpse" in the Steel Ball Run race. Dio thanks Lucy because her giving birth to the supplemental head allowed Dio to reach this spot where all his body parts were gathered without Funny Valentine or anyone in the race suspecting the truth of where the corpse's head had gone.<br />

Haruno Higashikata is a major ally featured in the eighth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, JoJolion<br />
<br />
Introduced in the "Love Once Buried" story arc, Haruno was first seen in a flashback in Soft & Wet, Part 2 He has not played much of a role in Josukes fights against the nefarious Rock Humans, however, the search for his and Josuke's identities is the driving force behind JoJolion. Following the A. Phex Brothers fight, he joins Karera Sakunami and the two depart in search of their own answers. Marking his last appearance ever since.<br />
<br />
Haruno is a Stand User, and his "Crazy Little Thing" allows him to create bubbles capable of redistributing small amounts of matter.<br />
<br />
__TOC__<br />
<br />
==Appearance==<br />
<br />
Haruno is a young, physically fit man of above-average height. Haruno has a diastema between his upper incisors and a star-shaped birthmark on his left shoulder. He has two sets of irises, no testicles, and two tongues, all joined as one, differing in texture and color.<br />
<br />
Much like his brother Josuke, he wears a tasseled "Dixie cup" sailor cap and dons a sailor suit, cut with a wide neck and above the navel. The outfit includes a neckerchief with a button resembling a slotted screw head, large emblems of an anchor on his right side and a compass rose on his left, fitted pants with a belt, and a pair of high-top athletic shoes <br />
<br />
Yasuho mentions he resembles her second dog, Haruno. Josuke and Haruno both got their new names from Yasuho's previous dogs.<br />
<br />
Yasuho notes that Haruno does not have testicles, as they were exchanged to Josuke, but it is also noted that Haruno took two of Josuke's teeth, giving him a total of 34 and Josuke 30.<br />

==Personality==<br />
<br />
<br />
Haruno is afflicted by extensive retrograde amnesia, lacking memory of himself or events prior to meeting Josuke Higashikata and Yasuho Hirose, but retaining various degrees of knowledge. As such, Haruno is driven to discover who he was by investigating the circumstances of his presence in the beach prior to having been saved by Josuke and Yasuho. That goal occupies nearly all of his activities, and no action on his part is made without attempting to reach the truth. That drive is sufficiently strong that he was willing to interrupt a rare moment of bonding with his brother Josuke to investigate Karera Sakunami. After learning about his past identity as Yoshikage Kira, Haruno set for himself the new goal of retrieving the Locacaca branch and using the fruit to heal Holy Joestar-Kira. He still demonstrates the same steadfastness in investigating the fruit and the whereabouts of the Locacaca Organization, with the addition of deferring more to Rai Mamezuku's opinions, deeming the plant appraiser's expertise about the fruit worth listening to.<br />
<br />
<br />
Unlike his brother, Haruno seems to have only retained certain quirks from Yoshikage Kira, most notably his ruthless demeanor. Haruno is not a very expressive individual but he is calculating and open about his conclusions when the situation calls for it. While he mostly resembles Kira in his attitude, Haruno ultimately considers himself separate from both him and Josefumi. Reaching a similar conclusion to his brother Josuke, but taking more time to comprehend himself as a person. Through this realization he begins to acknoweldge a stronger bond between him and Josuke, declaring that they are ultimately united by fate to revive their mother. <br />
<br />
Haruno is incredibly ruthless, showing no restraint when it comes to achieving his goals. owever, Haruno is willing to defend himself and the people he knows from anyone who wishes to harm them. Unlike his counterpart Jotaro, Haruno isn't disturbed at the idea of hitting women and readily knocked out Kei when she attacked him. Haruno is not afraid to threaten to kill, and he indeed killed Tamaki Damo in cold-blood in retaliation for threatening his adoptive family, though his main goal of discovering his identity means that killing his aggressors is counterproductive. That killing intent is easily triggered when someone hurts Yasuho. Haruno has also proven to be proficient at manipulating people, notably Jobin with whom he would adopt a more nonchalant persona to seem harmless. Apart from that, Haruno approaches his task calmly and methodically.<br />
<br />
Haruno is relatively polite and has been shown to strongly value familial relationships. Being amnesiac, Haruno places a great emphasis on one's family and legacy, wishing to learn his own past. The fact that no one came looking for him while hospitalized deeply unnerves him, to the point he can shed tears at the thought, and Haruno honors Norisuke Higashikata's adoption of him, considering himself a part of the Higashikatas. When Karera rejects her own parents, Haruno comments that they would never get along. He's not only willing to defend his adoptive family, but he strongly desires to cure Holy of her illness despite not having any memories of her. However, Haruno continues to suspect members of the Higashikata family of working against him. Haruno cares for Yasuho on a stronger level than even his family, and any threat to her well-being greatly angers him. In fact, during his battle with Yotsuyu Haruno is shown to possess a similar type of willpower to Johnny Joestar's "dark determination." However, when it comes to his goals, Haruno is straight to the point and hardly tolerates any circling around the subject. For instance, he didn't hesitate to directly ask Norisuke if he killed Yoshikage Kira, forcing the latter to explain his motives.<br />
<br />
<br />
Despite all this, Haruno also has a certain number of humorous quirks. He seems to be totally oblivious when it comes to mundane things while at the same time retaining in-depth knowledge of animal and plant species. Haruno prefers sleeping underneath a whole mattress rather than the bed sheets for "increased compression." He also regularly spills food he enjoys. During his earlier interactions with Yasuho, Haruno would pry on her breast size offhandedly, measuring it by sight (a trait that he probably gained from Yoshikage, as Holy was shown to possess a similar skill). Haruno has also demonstrated a more childish side, implanting his hair into Joshu and Hato Higashikata for fun. Whenever the mood is right, Haruno seems to have fun declaring his victory. He notably consciously poses after outsmarting the population of Shakedown Road and also smugly claimed his win against Jobin in a stag beetle fight.<br />
<br />
==Abilities==<br />
===Stand===<br />
Killer Queen (JoJolion)<br />
<br />
Crazy Little Thing is Haruno's Stand. Initially belonging to Kira, Haruno retains it after the fusion with Kira, albeit with some major differences, both in looks and abilities.<br />
<br />
Its primary ability ("Shift") is to create a bubble which has the ability to Shift the position of small objects (bearing the image of his birthmark), which may be returned or transferred to his immediate area (with range of about 20 meters). This ability has been used both offensively and strategically.<br />
Crazy Little Thing also demonstrates below-average strength and the capacity for rapid melee attack common to humanoid Stands.<br />

<br />
Like himself, Haruno's Stand is described as a fusion of Yoshikage Kira's Killer Queen and some aspects of Josefumi Kujo's Soft & Wet.<br />
<br />
During his fight with Yotsuyu Yagiyama, Haruno decides to "use [his] Shift bubbles for offense rather than defense..." Crazy Little Thing is shown to be able to surround and contain objects by creating a large Shift bubble and punching it into said object. The bubble bursts but then reforms around the target; Haruno is then able to make the bubble and object inside float anywhere he wants to, just like his regular Shift bubbles.<br />
<br />
By combining strikes with his bubbles, he is able to "inject" one of his Shift bubbles into the flesh of his opponents, causing superficial damage when he pops them. The explosive property of the Shifting bubbles was first demonstrated against the A. Phex Brothers and described by them as being very similar to Kira's ability.<br />

Haruno is also shown to be an expert Marksman, Being able to shoot Poor Tom's Head from tens of meters away using his signature Sniper Rifle<br />
<br />
==History==<br />
===Discovery===<br />
Haruno is discovered by Josuke Higashikata and Yasuho Hirose in the Wall Eyes, in the spot in which Yoshikage Kira had taken a self portrait a few weeks previous. Upon the discovery of the man, he revealed that he had no memory, or identity. However, upon meeting Josuke, he immediately believed him to be his brother, before passing out, and being taken to the hospital, where his DNA tests are inconclusive, however Yasuho determines independently that Josuke and Haruno’s hair samples share a 95% DNA match. After his recovery, Josuke and Yasuho lead him to Yoshikage Kira’s apartment, where he somehow remembers where everything is located, including his red and white sailor outfit, as well as his hidden sniper rifle, which he seems to understand as a second nature. Yasuho gives him the name Haruno, and the three leave the apartment, Haruno taking his gun with him.<br />
<br />
===Meeting the Higashikata Family===<br />
Haruno and Josuke are adopted by Norisuke Higashikata IV, and are taken to his family home, meeting their adoptive siblings. Daiya, the youngest of them, is to be watched by Josuke and Haruno, as she is blind, expressed by Norisuke. The two brothers watch over her, but she begins flirting with them, using her stand to make them forget various things. She steals Josuke’s memory of Soft & Wet, and Haruno panics as their greatest defense is now gone. As Daiya asks Josuke to close the blinds to prevent any sunlight from entering and creating a shadow, Haruno begins to panic, unleashing his Stand, Crazy Little Thing, which burns the window drapes, causing Daiya to step into Josuke’s shadow, causing his memories to return, and victory to be given to Josuke and Haruno. Daiya surrenders, and allows the two of them to sneak into the library, revealing the connection between the Higashikata and Joestar Families. <br />
<br />
===Paisley Park and Born This Way===<br />
Josuke and Haruno both decide to travel to meet Holy Joestar-Kira, Yoshikage Kira’s only living relative, who works as a doctor at the local TG University Hospital. With assistance from Yasuho, the two travel to the hospital, where the Stand Born This Way attacks them. However, they get assistance from Yasuho’s subconscious Stand, Paisley Park, and eventually make it to the hospital where the Higashikata Family maid Kei Nijimura meets them, revealed to be Born This Way’s User, and the sister of Yoshikage Kira. She asks them not to pursue her mother any further, and the two agree. Later, she explains to them the principle of the Equivalent Exchange in the Higashikata Garden, and Josuke and Haruno begin to realize that they are fusions of their previous selves, and that Haruno’s body is mostly Yoshikage Kira.<br />
<br />
===Shakedown Road===<br />
Josuke and Haruno both ask Norisuke to go to school, and Norisuke responds by asking Joshu to take them both to his university. Haruno, who very much dislikes Joshu, decides that he will travel to the school on his own, avoiding Josuke and Joshu.<br />
<br />
===Yotsuyu Yagiyama’s Attack===<br />
As Josuke and Norisuke began their face-off with Yotsuyu Yagiyama, Haruno was sound asleep. Upon waking up, he realizes the conflict happening, and quickly assembles his sniper rifle to assist the group. He initially fires at the projectiles flying towards Josuke and Norisuke thanks to Yotsuyu’s ability, but is later able to get a clear shot at Yotsuyu himself, which does not kill him, but rather turns the bullet wound into stone, revealing his status as a Rock Human. After Josuke kills Yotsuyu, he and Haruno reunite, and regroup, discussing the secrets behind the newly discovered Locacaca fruit.<br />
<br />
===Meeting Jobin Higashikata===<br />
Haruno is first introduced to Jobin Higashikata as he arrives back at the Higashikata house from his trip away. Jobin, unaware of Haruno’s presence in the house, had prepared no gift for him, leaving Haruno as the only member of the Higashikata family to not receive a present, making Haruno highly suspicious of Jobin. During Josuke’s beetle battle with Jobin, Haruno is told by Jobin to act as Josuke’s supporter, while Joshu acts as Jobin’s. Because Josuke is highly invested in the match, he is unable to realize Jobin’s use of his stand, until Haruno clues him into it, which gives Josuke the edge, leading to his victory.<br />
<br />
===Love Love Deluxe===<br />
Haruno, alongside Josuke, reunites with Yasuho after a long absence. As the three walk along the beach, a mysterious girl calls the two of them, revealing herself to have known their past selves. They travel to Kira’s apartment, where Haruno restocks on ammunition while Josuke and Karera talk. Eventually, the group is met by the A. Phex Brothers, who attack Josuke, Karera, and Haruno. However, fueled by anger, Josuke defeats both brothers without the need for Haruno’s help.<br />
<br />
After Josuke ruthlessly defeated the A. Phex Twins without the need for Haruno’s help. Haruno eventually decides he should leave with Karera to uncover the truth of their previous lives.<br />
<br />
===Dawn at the Higashikata House===<br />
Haruno is seen briefly during the family meeting after Tamaki Damo’s death.<br />
<br />
===Poor Tom and Ozon Baby===<br />
Haruno briefly appears in the Ozon Baby’s Pressure arc, assisting Josuke from his room with his signature sniper rifle, shooting Poor Tom to death. However, due to Josuke’s desire to keep Poor Tom alive to interrogate him, Josuke lashes out at Haruno, and the two have a falling out, leading to Haruno leaving the Higashikata house in a fit of anger. Haruno had not been seen until the brief flash-forward, where his shadow is seen over Norisuke’s body.<br />

<br />
*Similar to how Josuke took both of Haruno's testicles, it is noted that Haruno took two of Josuke's teeth, giving him a total of 34 and Josuke 30, this is possibly a reference to Freddie Mercury having four extra teeth<br />
*Haruno frequently references influential art pieces in a lot of his dialogue (Add a bunch of examples here)<br />
*Similar to his brother Josuke and mother Holy, Haruno has a great sense of measuring by sight. However he prefers to measure in feet and inches, rather than centimeters.<br />

<br />
<br />
Yasuho Hirose, hiding from Joshu Higashikata near Morioh Town's Wall Eyes, discovers a man in a sailor cap half buried underground. After she calls an ambulance, Yasuho notices a star-shaped birthmark on his shoulder surrounded by a fresh bite mark. Moreover, the man asks for his name. After she pulls him out of the ground, a fight erupts between Joshu and the amnesiac, during which a soap bubble emerges from the sailor's shoulder and seemingly makes Joshu's eyes pop. The man faints, before they are all taken to hospital.<br />
<br />
In narration, Yasuho explains how the Wall Eyes rose concurrent with a version of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake. Massive, rocky protrusions marked with long, vertical holes, they rise between the coastline and the mainland, blocking highways, waterways, gas and power lines.<br />
<br />
Later at the hospital, Yasuho meets the young man again and he explains to her that he is amnesiac. Yasuho offers to help him and by investigating his hat, they manage to seemingly learn his identity: Yoshikage Kira. However, Yasuho feels this name doesn't fit him and instead nicknames him "Josuke". The duo goes to Kira's apartment, where Josuke discovers a woman in the bathtub but Yasuho discovers a compromising photo album, making her leave in disgust. Moreover, Josuke notices that he is under attack: each time he injures his hand or foot, it falls under the control of an aggressor in the flat above him. Revealing his Stand Soft & Wet and with Yasuho's timely return, Josuke manages to catch his opponent.<br />
<br />
The attacker present himself as Ojiro Sasame, a surfer seeking revenge against Yoshikage Kira and who confirms that Josuke isn't Kira although he bears a passing resemblance. Sasame tells of a psychopathic Kira, who in the past by an obscure power and for little reason convinced Sasame to eat his own fingers. Josuke sees a photo of Kira near the Wall Eyes and comes back to where he emerged to uncover the body of the real Yoshikage Kira, who died of cardiac arrest three days prior. Yasuho secretly obtains the autopsy results and discovers something else: Kira's corpse is missing both of his testicles.<br />

Yasuho introduces Josuke to the head of the Higahikata family, Norisuke Higashikata IV, owner of a fruit importation business inherited from his grandfather Norisuke Higashikata I. Lent the Higashikata name, Josuke Higashikata is welcomed into Norisuke's home and is instructed to guard the youngest daughter Daiya. As Norisuke ominously warns him to obey his word, Yasuho is escorted out by the family's maid Nijimura and warned not to return.<br />
<br />
As everyone leaves, Daiya begins to flirt with Josuke and decides to play with him. Using her Stand California King Bed, she steals one of Josuke's few memories every time he fusses over her. To make things fair, she tells Josuke that if he manages to make her step on his shadow, the memories will be returned to him, although her knowledge and perceptiveness make the endeavour nearly impossible for him. Meanwhile, Yasuho discovers from a DNA test that Josuke and Kira are practically the same person. Josuke eventually tricks Daiya into stepping on his shadow cast from the light of an open refrigerator. Josuke decides to not hold a grudge and enters Norisuke's study, following the symbol he's seen on Kira's wrist.<br />
<br />
Josuke discovers a book in the study marked with the same symbol: a record of the Steel Ball Run race. In the front cover he discovers a family tree for the Higashikata family, and that the first Norisuke Higashikata's daughter married Johnny Joestar, a direct ancestor of the dead Yoshikage Kira. From the family tree, Josuke makes plans to seek out Kira's only living relative: his mother Holy Joestar-Kira. With Yasuho's help, Josuke discovers that she is a doctor at local T.G. University Hospital and both agree to meet here. Also, they discover that she is currently a patient. On his way to the hospital, Josuke notices that his GPS is malfunctioning and that a motorcyclist Stand is stalking him, appearing suddenly and attacking with a freezing wind before disappearing just as quickly.<br />
<br />
The GPS is eventually revealed as Yasuho's own nascent Stand, which is actually helping Josuke against his assailant. Noticing that the enemy can only appear when he "opens something", Josuke manages to evade his assailant, then find and eventually defeat the user Kyo Nijimura. Kyo is revealed to have a star-shaped birthmark and to be Kira's little sister. She mistook Josuke for an enemy and tried to stop him from approaching her mother Holy; as a gesture of good will, Josuke promises to stay away from Holy and the two make peace.<br />
<br />
<br />
Privy to the supernatural properties of the soil near the Wall Eyes, Kyo and Josuke work out that Josuke is a mix between two men, demonstrating the process with two fruits. However, Kira's Stand was not Soft & Wet but rather Killer Queen, leaving the identity of the other man a mystery.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, Yasuho has managed to enter the hospital and meet the delirious Holy Joestar-Kira, but she is soon kicked out by security. Holy watches on as she sees Yasuho's Stand Paisley Park, activate subconsciously, musing that she may be able to help her son. Paisley Park's powers ultimately lead Yasuho back into the hospital into a room right next to Holy's where she sees the extent of her mysterious illness. She lacks the ability to discern people from objects, and the doctors note that she is missing several of her vital organs and her brain has perfectly spherical voids in it, but there is no sign of surgical <br />
removal.<br />

<br />
Several days later, Norisuke asks Joshu to take Josuke down to the local high school to see if he can be enrolled there. However, the path to the high school leads them through Shakedown Road, where the residents of the road somehow make Joshu and Josuke damage miscellaneous items and coerce them into compensating with increasingly more money. As a pet shop owner demands 330,000 yen in compensation for a killed rare turtle, Joshu and Josuke reluctantly become mules for a drug trade as pair of cops watch on.<br />
<br />
Josuke and Joshu separately understand how Shakedown Road works and exploit it to their advantage. Seemingly taking the money and fending off the thug with his newly awakened Stand Nut King Call, Joshu sees that he's been tricked. In truth, Josuke had performed another exchange and clears his name with the policemen, also acquiring the money for the trade to reimburse to old man. Afterward, Yasuho and Josuke respectively learn through research and the revelation of the pet shop owner that a nearby Jizo was built as a memorial to Johnny Joestar and discover the circumstances of his death. After the Steel Ball Run Johnny had married Rina Higashikata whom he met on his way to Europe. After a few years of happy life, Rina was struck by a mysterious disease: she began to lose her memories and her skin turned to stone. In his anguish, Johnny stole the Saint's Corpse and took it to Japan. Hiding the Corpse in a hole under a pine tree, Johnny brought his family here and prayed the Corpse to transfer the disease away from his wife, Johnny saw with horror that his son became ill instead. Finally, Johnny took the disease onto himself and died, his head crushed by a rock.<br />
The pet shop owner claims that his story is a mere legend, but Josuke realizes the link between the mysterious illness that afflicted Rina and the one Holy Joestar suffers from to this day.<br />
<br />
Elsewhere, Yasuho finds her way to the Meditation Pine at the rear of the Higashikata estate from photos in the news stories she has researched. She reads of a baby who washed up on the beach nearby on November 13, 1901, wearing a necklace. Yasuho is suddenly grabbed by a hand from inside the tree and momentarily groped in the darkness.<br />

=====Tsurugi's Prank=====<br />
Yasuho finds herself with Tsurugi Higashikata, the grandchild of Norisuke. Tsurugi reveals that they are in an underground facility used by the Higashikata Family. Tsurugi and Yasuho chat, and Tsurugi reveals that he's a boy crossdressing to thwart off a family curse. When Yasuho demands that he allows her to leave, Tsurugi pulls a prank on her. He has folded Yasuho's smartphone into a frog which leaps at her and she is suddenly put under the thrall of Paper Moon King.<br />
<br />
Yasuho leaves and heads back into town, followed by Tsurugi, and discovers that she cannot distinguish between people anymore. Although she calls Josuke for help, Tsurugi neutralizes him with his power as well. After a lengthy series of misadventures, Yasuho relents and follows Tsurugi back to the playroom. Elsewhere, Josuke sees that he is no longer afflicted by Tsurugi's Stand and realizes that Yasuho was its main target.<br />
<br />
Through the slot in the door of the second underground room, somebody spies on Tsurugi and Yasuho's return.<br />
<br />
=====Battle Against Yotsuyu Yagiyama=====<br />
Tsurugi apologizes, admitting that he targeted her with his Stand Paper Moon King. Calmed, Yasuho asks Tsurugi the purpose the underground complex and she learns that it is dedicated to treating the mysterious illness that affects the first born members of the Higashikata family which slowly turns their skin to stone. Yasuho is reminded of Holy's condition and that Kira tried to save his mother. After Tsurugi leaves, a mysterious man named Yotsuyu Yagiyama appears and attacks Yasuho.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, Josuke spots Tsurugi heading toward the garden and follows him, himself followed by Norisuke. Josuke then interrogates Norisuke to discover his intentions once and for all. Despite earlier suspicious behavior, Norisuke exposes why he doesn't mean Josuke any harm and that both him and Kira wanted to cure the Rock Disease plaguing their families. Norisuke thus hoped to learn in Josuke's memories the cure Kira supposedly found before his death.<br />
<br />
Soon the two men are attacked by miscellaneous objects that keep converging into Josuke after Yotsuyu somehow sneaks on Josuke and touches him. Josuke and Norisuke take refuge in the bunker where they learn that Yotsuyu has promised Tsurugi to give him a cure in exchange for giving Josuke away. When Josuke sees that Yasuho has been taken, he immediately gives chase with Norisuke's Stand King Nothing which tracks objects and people by their scents. While following the scent, Norisuke reveals to Josuke the Rock Disease which affects the eldest child of each generation and how and member sacrifices themselves for the child's sake. King Nothing leads Josuke and Norisuke to the coast in which they find Yasuho still unconscious. At the same time, they discover Yotsuyu and see that he somehow can turn into a rock. Yotsuyu attacks again with canisters of pesticides but Josuke grabs him and jumps off a cliff into the sea below. He then traps him in nets and threatens to drown him if he doesn't answers his question, but Yotsuyu remains silent before crumbling to dust. At the same time, Josuke spots a mysterious fruit amongst the flotsam but it soon sinks deep into the water.<br />
<br />
Josuke returns to the surface with what remains of Yotsuyu, only raising more questions than answers when examining the net full of stones. Tsurugi asks if he saw the cure Yotsuyu had promised him, and Josuke mentions the fruit.<br />

=====Jobin Higashikata's Involvement=====<br />
After some research, Norisuke reveals that Yotsuyu was impersonating someone and in reality has no identity. Meanwhile, Yasuho has been sent home. Norisuke, Josuke, and Tsurugi soon find another fruit alongside a dog which can transform into rock, and Norisuke makes King Nothing memorize its scent. Tsurugi adopts the dog which he dubs Iwasuke.<br />
<br />
To investigate the fruit further, Norisuke brings Josuke to his fruit parlor to examine an encyclopedia, but they are interrupted by the return of Norisuke's first born son Jobin Higashikata. Jobin has just returned from a trip abroad and gives Josuke a rare Dorcus titanus stag beetle. Overjoyed to see his eldest son, Norisuke decides to accompany him back home, and unbeknownst to him, King Nothing detects the mysterious fruit's scent on Jobin's handkerchief, a fact only Josuke notices.<br />
<br />
Josuke enlists Tsurugi's help and learns that he can bait Jobin through his prized beetles. Thus Josuke manipulates Jobin into starting a beetle fight with Joshu as an observer. Josuke plants female beetle pheromones on the ring and manages to win the first bout, but Jobin asks for a second bout with his car as a prize, which was Josuke's goal. During the second bout, Jobin then cheats too, unveiling a small part of his Speed King's heat power to get the upper hand in the beetle fight but Josuke sneakily poisons Jobin's beetle and wins the car keys.<br />
<br />
During the challenge, Tsurugi has also enlisted Yasuho and made her enter the Higashikata House. After Josuke sends them the car keys with a bubble, Yasuho and Tsurugi enter the garage and investigate where Jobin has gone with his car thanks to Paisley Park. That way, they see that Jobin has given the tree for the mysterious fruit to an unknown man. Meanwhile, Jobin has begun to suspect Josuke and tries to pressure him into revealing his intention with Speed King; however, Josuke escapes. So do Yasuho and Tsurugi.<br />
<br />
=====Battle Against Aisho Dainenjiyama=====<br />
Yasuho discovers the man's identity as Aisho Dainenjiyama, a security guard at Morioh's baseball stadium. Using Yasuho's phone empowered by Paisley Park and folded up by Paper Moon King into a frog, the duo witness Aisho perform a fruit deal with an old man who miraculously regrows a lost leg. However, Aisho discovers the phone. Although the phone escapes, Aisho unleashes his Stand Doobie Wah! to chase Yasuho and Tsurugi. The automatic Doobie Wah! materializes from their own breath and relentlessly pursues them.<br />
<br />
A flashback details Aisho's past: he used to live in a house with a girlfriend, but when he revealed his true nature as a rock man, his girlfriend used one of his hibernation periods to sell the house, nearly killing him in the process when it was demolished; Aisho was saved when Yotsuyu woke him up and lamented at the loss of his house.<br />
<br />
In the present, Tsurugi retaliates by releasing a car origami that makes contact with Aisho and tricks him into mistaking a bus for Jobin, causing Aisho to be run over and die.<br />
<br />

:Love Love Deluxe (story arc)<br />
<br />
The next day, Yasuho finally meets up with Josuke, again. They stroll along the beach, sharing a tender moment, but another girl suddenly greets Josuke as "Se-chan", asking for a later meeting. Josuke goes to meet the girl, named Karera Sakunami. Despite her suspicious behavior, Karera is familiar with the person Josuke was, and he plays along, hiding his lost memories and Karera does reveal his name: Josefumi Kujo. Meanwhile, a pair of twins playing football, the A. Phex Brothers, track Karera and attack her.<br />
<br />
The nature of Rock Humans is explained, revealing their coexistence with humanity in secret, the prevalence of Stands amongst them, and the seeming cursed interactions they have if they fall in love with a human.<br />
<br />
A short fight ensues between Josuke and the A. Phex Brothers. Josuke manages to use Schott Key No.2's poison gas to his advantage and takes the elder brother hostage with bubbles full of poison. When the elder, soaked with gasoline, is ignited by Karera, his brother runs toward him, forgetting the bubbles which pop and envelop him in poison gas. Both Rock Men are consequently killed. After watching the fight, Karera finally realizes that Kira and Josuke had performed an equivalent exchange, and leaves Josuke be before he can ask her anything else.<br />

The mysterious Locacaca Tree is introduced, being a plant from New Guinea formally discovered by an Australian expedition in 1938. The Locacaca was used by the locals to cure various ailments while turning a random body part into stone. During World War II, all reports of the fruit disappeared and it became a mere legend.<br />
<br />
As Josuke rests in the Higashikata House and converses with Yasuho, Hato brings her new boyfriend Tamaki Damo to meet her family. Surprisingly, Damo is unattractive and awkward, leading to an embarrassing meeting. However, the whole family is soon immobilized by Damo's Vitamin C which softens them into puddles. Damo confronts Norisuke and interrogates him in order to find who has been dismantling his organization. Damo then explains the context of the whole affair.<br />
<br />
Two years ago, Yoshikage Kira discovered Aisho Dainenjiyama in his rock form by accident while working on a ship. Curious, he investigated the whole trade and discovered the Locacaca. He coincidentally met with an acquaintance, Josefumi. Back when he was a boy, Josefumi was saved by Holy Joestar-Kira and Yoshikage, who performed surgery on him. Grateful, Josefumi agreed to help Kira steal some branches from Aisho unnoticed and subsequently grafted the branches to another tree. However, in August 19, 2011, Josefumi and Kira were caught by Damo and Yotsuyu. Kira was fatally wounded but he snuck some of Killer Queen's bomb near them, causing an explosion. This allowed Josefumi to drag Kira to the hiding spot of the two fruits they had. Although he drove off the A. Phex Brothers, Josefumi wasted the fruits trying to save Kira but noting their new ability to fuse, decided to fuse himself to Kira in the hopes of Kira surviving and harvesting new fruits. A rift opened and the two men were buried underground.<br />
<br />
Back in the present, Hato confronts Damo over what he is doing but Damo takes her out to confront Josuke after Norisuke reveals Josuke's identity. Damo almost kills him but is interrupted as Josuke has transported Hato out of the house. Thanks to her Walking Heart, Hato inflicts severe damage and Josuke can finish Damo off. He subsequently confirms that he is the amalgamation of Yoshikage Kira and Josefumi Kujo.<br />

Meanwhile, Norisuke's wife Kaato Higashikata has finished her prison sentence and prepares to leave. She notably contacts her son Jobin in order to plot against Norisuke.<br />

Two weeks prior to Kaato Higashikata's release, Joshu asks his father for some money to buy some idol goods. After the idol meet-and-greet, Joshu antagonizes a fellow fan and secretly steals his wallet after he leaves it behind at the register. Joshu indulges himself in a shopping spree, and coincidentally accumulates more and more money as he tries to spend it. People actually refuse to take money from him, mentioning a mysterious Milagro Man. Discovering that the money is literally clinging to him and is burdening him more and more Joshu tracks down his victim Zaihei Nigatake. Zaihei, grateful toward Joshu for taking his "curse", explains the legend of the Milagro Man and his history with the curse. Nonetheless, Joshu tricks Zaihei into tearing one of the cursed bills and passes the curse back onto him much to Zaihei's horror. On his way home, Joshu melancholically ponders his true worth in the world.<br />
<br />
Josuke confirms his second identity, then finally sees Holy Joestar-Kira for the first time. However, her condition has deteriorated drastically and Josuke is appalled that the hospital staff don't take care of her. Feeling attachment toward her, he swears to find the cure and pay for Holy's treatment in the meantime.<br />
<br />
Afterward, the Higashikata family notices that their mother Kaato has returned home. Norisuke and Hato are wary of her because they know she was sent to prison for murdering a child. Sometime later, Josuke reveals Holy's condition to Norisuke and also that Jobin may be somehow conspiring against all of them due to his involvement in the Locacaca Smuggling Organization. Norisuke refuses to suspect Jobin but instructs Josuke to seek out his company's plant appraiser to find the branches. Kaato eavesdrops on this conversation and informs Jobin of the two's plans. Jobin in turn seeks out another Rock Human named Dolomite who agrees to attack Josuke under the belief that he will get his body back to normal, summoning up his Stand Blue Hawaii. Blue Hawaii then controls several consecutive people to try and touch Josuke so that he is controlled. Despite his best efforts, Josuke is touched by a baby. The controlled Josuke heads to the Mutsukabe Shrine, where he is interrogated by Dolomite about his goals. Once he discovers the truth, Dolomite instructs Josuke to drown himself in the pond, but Yasuho thankfully intervenes.<br />
<br />
After Dolomite is neutralized and reveals Jobin's involvement with the Locacaca Organization, Josuke and Yasuho go to the plant appraiser's home on a bus. Suddenly, Rai Mamezuku the plan appraiser appears to hijack the bus. He notably tells Josuke that a new group of enemy is now moving against them and Mamezuku brings the couple to his home: a ski lift. He also reveals Doggy Style, a Stand ability allowing him to unravel himself. The trio is soon attacked by a duo of new enemies: Urban Guerrilla and Doremifasolati Do. Urban is a Rock Human and Doremifasolati is his pet which functions as an underground carrier. Because of their strong abilities, the two almost kill Josuke, Mamezuku and Yasuho but they manage to leak some gas inside of Doremifasolati Do and ignite it, creating an explosion that kills them both.<br />
<br />
Not long after, Jobin meets with Urban's superior, Poor Tom. The baby-like old Rock Human then instructs Jobin to bury his Stand Ozon Baby in the orchard of the Higashikata Estate.<br />

<br />
After the battle, Mamezuku tells Yasuho to go home and stay safe. However, the clash with the Rock Humans causes her to remember an incident of the past. When she was 13, Yasuho bought a hair clip in anticipation of a weekend with her father. However, the hair clip was a strange creature that tricked her into committing suicide. Thankfully, the Kira Family saved her from it. Since then Yasuho keeps its remains in her room.<br />
<br />
In the present, Yasuho reaffirms her will to help in front of Mamezuku, who notes that the hair clip may be a Rock Animal and thus a lead toward identifying the enemy.<br />

<br />
It is breakfast at the Higashikata. Jobin stealthily plants Ozon Baby in the orchard, but when he returns to the tool shed, is confronted by his son Tsurugi. Jobin thus reassures that his actions are for the sake of his family.<br />
<br />
Nonetheless, the air pressure increases and the Stand Ozon Baby appears to attack everyone.<br />
<br />
The Higashikata House is under attack from Ozon Baby which manipulates pressure, everyone save Jobin having fallen unconscious. Trapped in their shed, Jobin and the revived Tsurugi realize that Ozon Baby is an automatic Stand which will indiscriminately attack anyone in its range. Jobin also roughly grasps the enemy's ability: Ozon Baby can decrease the air pressure in a zone, but any closed space will dampen its effects. Determined, they set the orchard on fire by using origamis and Speed King to spur their enemies into action.<br />
<br />
Indeed, Poor Tom rushes into the orchard to retrieve the branch while Josuke and Mamezuku go out, protected by Soft & Wet's bubbles. They meet just as Mamezuku takes the branch and a fight ensues. Poor Tom takes out Mamezuku and seize the branch but is poisoned by a yew seed. Pursued by Josuke, Poor Tom is bluffed into cancelling the air pressure ability, but his supposed allies from the hospital have arrived. Surprisingly, Poor Tom is killed by a mysterious ability shooting through his head. An unseen person seizes the branch and drives away before Josuke can do anything. However, it is revealed that Tsurugi used Paper Moon King to trick everyone: an ordinary branch has been fought over while Jobin stole the real Locacaca branch. They hide the branch, grafted into a cactus. Meanwhile, the ambulance driver discover the trick and guess that the arsonist is the one who has the branch.<br />
<br />
Finally, Josuke returns to Mamezuku, revealed to be alive and slowly reconstituting himself. Desperate, Josuke can only observe his total loss.<br />

<br />
After the fire, the whole Higashikata Family gathers, allowing Josuke to explain his situation and that he has now 10 days to retrieve the fruit. Jobin's insistence on the hospital clues Mamezuku in as to the eldest son's guilt about the fire but the two decide to search the TG University Hospital first for the occupants of the ambulance.<br />
<br />
For her part, Yasuho has already headed to the hospital. Yasuho sees Mitsuba Higashikata with a physician, Dr. Wu Tomoki and discovers that he too is dealing the Locacaca to Mitsuba as a form of "beauty treatment". Tomoki, who can turn into dust thanks to his ability Doctor Wu attacks Yasuho but Mitsuba intervenes with her Stand Awaking III Leaves, realizing she doesn't remember how she is treated and determined to save her unborn baby from the equivalent exchange. Fending off Tomoki until they discover a hidden laboratory and a garden of orchard of Locacaca, the two women are almost killed by Tomoki but then saved at the last moment by Josuke who kills Tomoki.<br />
====Chasing after the Locacaca====<br />
The Wonder of You (The Miracle of Your Love) (story arc)<br />
<br />
Josuke, Yasuho and Mamezuku check the entry log of the laboratory and discover the supposed remaining member of the Locacaca Organization: Satoru Akefu the head doctor of TG University Hospital. Against Yasuho's instinct they persist in this lead. Unable to find a picture of the doctor, the group tries to chase after him but an unknown Stand prevents them from reaching Akefu, who eventually escapes. Moreover, the group has been crossing path with Tooru, Yasuho's ex-boyfriend. Tooru tries to revive the flame between him and Yasuho, causing no small amount of jealousy and suspicion. Josuke is made to look like a murder culprit when a man's neck snaps after getting into a fight with him and Yasuho finds herself alone as Mamezuku and Josuke must now deal with the repercussion of the man's death.<br />
<br />
Seven days before the harvest, Tsurugi and Mitsuba is accused of having shut iron doors on one of his schoolmates, angering Mitsuba who vehemently defends Tsurugi and insults one of the mothers, Makorin - all the while knowing that Tsurugi had a perfect motive. However, she also sees the head doctor has been near the school gates and when she returns to her home, she spots Akefu again.<br />
<br />
Five days before the harvest, Ojiro Sasame learns about the healing soils around the Higashikata House from his current girlfriend Makorin and also remembers the healing properties of the Locacaca. He stalks Tsurugi Higashikata and tricks the boy into going back to the house and inform his father about him. Jobin Higashikata hastily checks on his plant, but realizes that Ojiro has tricked them into revealing their hiding spot. Using Fun Fun Fun, Ojiro controls Jobin into slamming the shards of a broken window into his and Tsurugi's neck and Jobin takes the fruit. He snatches some money from Jobin's wallet but also realizes that he's been tricked. Tsurugi used Paper Moon King to make Ojiro believe the shards were bigger than they really were and Jobin has stored heat into the money, killing Ojiro. Jobin then retrieves the plant and kills Mako Kitani for good measure.<br />
<br />
Back at the Higashikata's, Norisuke suddenly reads on the newspapers that Josuke and Mamezuku are suspected of murder and becomes worried. It is revealed that the duo has been hiding for some time. When Mamezuku discovers that Satoru Akefu may be attending a lecture on regenerative medicine at the TG University Hospital, they decide to resume their pursuit but the incoming rain then turns into a deadly hail because of Akefu's ability. Cornered by the police and the rain, Josuke shockingly steps into the rain, determined to be wounded and brought to the hospital. A shocked Mamezuku is left behind, apprehended by the police. Meanwhile, Tooru tries to woo Yasuho but she then discovers that Satoru and Mitsuba Higashikata are acquainted. Learning about the link between Mitsuba Higashikata and Satoru Akefu, Yasuho and Tooru decide to go to the Higashikata House. There is 48 hours left before the harvest.<br />
<br />
=====Dangerous Pursuit=====<br />
<br />
At the Higashikata's, Mitsuba's suspicions about the events grow as she learns about the repercussions of the struggle for the new Locacaca. Still in the dark and under attack from Satoru's ability, Mitsuba starts to suspect that something is amiss, at which point Tsurugi's Rock Disease goes out of control and his body begins transforming into an origami.<br />
<br />
Two days later, Josuke wakes up at the hospital. The lecture is about to begin but his mission is compromised when a policeman he takes out falls onto his body, causing heavy damage. Josuke finds himself in a desperate situation but is thankfully saved by Holy who had woken up, having sensed his arrival. As she drags him toward the gynecology department, room A2 where she was receiving the Locacaca treatment, Holy explains that her condition has worsened and that a mass of rock moving through her body threatens to put her into a coma regularly. Moreover, she explains that the Locacaca Research Organization had infiltrated the hospital long ago, performing clinical trials through Tamaki Damo's smuggling ring. At the same time, Satoru begins his lecture and unveils his new miracle medicine, the Locacaca 6251. Josuke and Holy reach room A2 where Holy is able to heal Josuke with 6251 before losing consciousness. Seeing his mother in this disastrous state, Josuke recovers and is more determined than ever to get his hands on the fruit. Josuke decides to revise his plans and instead of pursuing the head doctor head-on, has an unknown parcel delivered somewhere else and then patiently waits inside the hidden laboratory. <br />
<br />
Meanwhile, Yasuho has arrived at the Higashikata House and begins to infiltrate the household to find the new Locacaca. Jumping between electronic devices, Yasuho eventually finds a bedridden Tsurugi and tries to ask him the location of the branch. However, she is interrupted when Jobin grabs the mobile phone Paisley Park is hiding in and throws it in the toilet in an attempt to drown Yasuho. Worse, the phone's signal is breaking off. Isolated from any electronic device and any ally as she cries for help, Yasuho resorts to showing herself to the cameras. Mitsuba spots her and goes to Tsurugi's bedroom. However, Jobin's orders and the sight of Satoru Akefu lurking near makes Mitsuba determined to protect her family at all costs. To keep the cure for her son safe, Mitsuba leaves Yasuho for dead. As Yasuho comes face to face with the head doctor, she falls down and loses her right arm. Mitsuba then tries to finish off Yasuho by summoning Awaking III Leaves and remotely pushing the cell phone deeper into the water, but a drip of water pierces her hand. This causes her to misplace one arrow and the energy is redirected into a wall. The wall is destroyed and reveals to the rest of the family the new nearly matured Locacaca.<br />
<br />
====Endless Calamity====<br />
Endless Calamity (story arc)<br />
<br />
Upon arriving at Tsurugi's bedroom, Norisuke sees Paisley Park and immediately saves it from drowning while demanding to know what is happening. Jobin tries to sway Norisuke to his side, but Norisuke summons King Nothing, which investigates the new Locacaca. It materializes into Ojiro Sasame, showing the family that Jobin is connected to his death. Overwhelmed by the pressure, Jobin resorts to inducing a heat stroke in Norisuke with Speed King. He cries at his action but quickly recomposes himself to lead the Higashikata Family. While this is going on, Paisley Park has managed to return to Yasuho in the confusion, all the while Satoru Akefu continues to lurks near the house.<br />
<br />
At the police station, Mamezuku manages to work out that the head doctor he sees is the Stand, whose power is fueled by the karma of those who witness it. Meanwhile, Yasuho calls Tooru and asks for his help. He seems interested when she mentions a way to heal her and decides to drive towards the Higashikata House. Back inside the house, Jobin tells his siblings to put the unconscious Norisuke on the second floor and the Locacaca in another hiding spot. Mitsuba then sees the head doctor, who keeps approaching in impossible ways such as going from a corridor to a computer screen, then passing across the bathroom and then under the bedsheets. Mitsuba warns Jobin about the head doctor and, also realizing the nature of the enemy's ability, warns Jobin to not go after him. However, Jobin has summoned Speed King and attacks the doctor under the bedsheets. Nothing grave seemingly appears, but Jobin then realises that the dip tube of a hair spray has been shot into his chest, letting blood flow out of his body at a dramatic rate. Jobin collapses and the potted Locacaca rolls towards the door to the garage. Meanwhile, Yasuho is still agonizing outside and Tooru, who has arrived, merely stands by. Joshu suddenly comes out of the house with the potted Locacaca, intending to help her.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, Josuke's parcel has arrived to its receiptor, a journalist that has assisted to Akefu's lecture. The parcel contains damning evidence of illegal human trials of the Locacaca6251 and the journalist confronts Akefu over this, only to be killed. Akefu heads for the laboratory and Rai incidentally spots him. Rai and Akefu roughly reach Josuke at the same time. Josuke has a plan but Akefu refrains from stepping inside of the room. Instead, he brings out a creature named Dododo De Dadada which attacks Josuke. Thanks to his bubbles preventing from touching anything, Josuke avoids being heavily wounded. Akefu dares Josuke to come at him, but Josuke points out that if Akefu had the new Locacaca, he wouldn't need to. Thus, Rai realizes that Akefu doesn't have the fruit.<br />
<br />
Ensue a detailed explanation of the early life of a Rock Human, a more detailed explanation of their habits, and then a flashback. A young Rai just finished attending to his father's funeral and his family orchard has been destroyed by a mysterious calamity. Despite having seen a mysterious insect attacking the trees, Norisuke Higashikata IV, who had come to the funeral and knew the Mamezuku, refutes Rai's claims and say that these events were natural calamities. Incidentally, Rai spotted the head doctor there. In the present, Josuke suddenly oozes asbestos but Rai protects him from Dododo De Dadada's second attack and thankfully tells him not to move. The attack was similar to the way the trees in the orchard died and thus Rai is able to give a good advice. However, Satoru Akefu, or rather the Stand Wonder of U precises that extending one's limbs is the trigger for the asbestos, but also practically reveals to Rai that he was the one responsible for Rai's father's death and the destruction of the orchard. Dododo De Dadada attacks Josuke again.<br />
<br />
===The Harvest===<br />
Thirteen minutes to the harvest of the Locacaca, it is revealed that Norisuke has been gravely wounded, being unconscious or worse. Somehow involved, Tsurugi drags Norisuke out of the office toward the balcony.<br />

==Trivia==<br />
<br />
*According to a note by Araki in volume 2, the -lion in JoJolion's title is derived from the Ancient Greek εὐαγγέλιον (evangelion), in reference to the Gospel. "By combining this word with "JoJo", I've meant for the title to signify the existence of the protagonist "Josuke" in this world".<br />
*It won the Grand Prize for manga at the 2013 Japan Media Arts Festival.<br />
*At 9 years and counting of monthly publication, JoJolion's serialization is currently the longest of any JoJo part (a title that previously belonged to Steel Ball Run).<br />
