This thread is to share any manga other than JoJo. What ongoing/finished manga series are you reading right now? What is the story about?

The ongoing manga series I'm reading at the moment are One Piece and Bungo Stray Dogs, but the last manga I finished was Chainsaw Man.

The one I'll recommend the most is Bungo Stray Dogs because I feel like it hasn't gotten enough attention until now. The story is about a group of detectives, centering around the member Atsushi Nakajima, going up against multiple organizations such as the mafia and an international guild. The characters are named after real life people (mostly Japanese, English, and Russian authors) and their superpowers are based off of real life authors' works. Most of the manga's pacing is reminiscent of a novel, where the conflict is introduced and solved in the same chapter. If you're into that, then BSD might be for you.

How about you? :^)

The ongoing manga series I've caught up to and read Attack on titan, One piece, Sousou no Frieren, and Grand blue. But the Manga i'm currently reading that is finished and is really frigging amazing, Ashita no joe. I've never been as emotional and invested in a story since steel ball run, and speaking of steel ball run, it actually is very similar to ashita no joe in some aspects. For one the main character, Joe Yabuki's story is very similar to Johnny as they are both start off as anti hero's ish, because of there hard pasts, but as the story goes on they start to value their friends and the people around them. Boxing gives Joe a purpose in life, which is to beat his rival Rikishi Torru, who he met in prison. Highly recommend to anyone who likes steel ball run, or just coming of age stories in general.

I'd recommend Alice in Borderland. It's a psychological survival manga which goes into concepts of human nature and the meaning of life.

I've actually been meaning to check out the Bungo Stray Dogs anime! A friend recommended it to me a while ago.

Of course, I've been reading JoJolion, as well as re-reading some of the one-shots and earlier parts. Though I'm really enjoying this series I recently came across called Ender Geister which is about a cursed man who's recruited by an Exorcist to take down other phenomenons. The series is still serializing and 29 chapters are currently out. The author has this fun quirk of the MC quoting a lot of popular western films, as well as having every chapter name be a reference to a popular film.

Also, I just recently finished the 5th Volume of One Piece which is fun. It's a really charming series so it's easy for me to see why so many people enjoy it.

I'm currently reading BAKI DOU, Attack on Titan and One Piece.

I recently started reading One Piece after Chainsaw Man left a sour taste in my mouth and so far I've been enjoying it. The world-building and plot consistency are definitely where the series excels the most. But I feel it's overall length and large fan base can be are a little overwhelming at times. For now I think I'll wait until I've caught up before I try to form an opinion on it.

I'd recommended reading Gantz. It's a Sci-Fi horror series by the same author as Inuyashiki and Gigant. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but I really enjoy the characters, art and action scenes. The anime adaption for it is also pretty good, but falls short due to the fact it ends on a filler arc. If you just want some dumb fun I'd definitely check it out.

Btw the opening is one of my favourites. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ5ICtGn6u8)
