Just an observation. Araki seems to really like having the idea of curses, more specifically familial curses from the ancient past in his stories.
-In Battle Tendency, Speedwagon was talking about a Joestar curse
-For Stardust Crusaders, "DIO's curse" (the actual term that's used in Chapter 120) plagues the Joestar Family
-In JoJolion, there's the Higashikata Family's curse
-In Rohan at the Louvre, Rohan deals with a cursed painting tied to his ancestor
-In one Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, there's the story of a family being cursed to die on the Harvest Moon day
-In The Confessionnal one-shot, a hobbo curses a guy
-In "Lives of Eccentrics", the character Sarah Winchester is chased by the vengeful ghosts of the people killed by the weapons her father made
And turns out in Interview:UOMO Magazine (October 2018), Araki says this:
The other thing that scares me is to be held responsible for the actions of my ancestors. It's different from a curse or a divine punishment, but it's kind of like why DIO attacks Jotaro. I feel like that type of ancestral karma exists, and I wouldn't want something like that to fall on me. I wouldn't be able to stand it if I got attacked all of a sudden when it's not even my fault (laughs).
So again, I think this is a neat little thing that Araki does, perhaps unconsciously, to always add ancestral curses that plague the present as a horror element, because that scares him on a personal level, idk why.
