Echoes ACT50
Echoes ACT50 (エコーズACT50, Ekōzu Akuto 50) is a spin-off one-shot manga written and illustrated by Kosuke Masuda, the manga artist of Gag Manga Biyori. It was first announced in the May 2025 issue of Ultra Jump on April 18, 2025. It was published in the Summer 2025 issue of JOJO magazine on May 23, 2025.[1]
The spin-off stars Koichi Hirose and his Stand Echoes from the fourth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Diamond is Unbreakable.
Summary
Koichi Hirose wakes up on a park bench and is greeted by a strange old man claiming to be "Echoes ACT50." Confused, Koichi learns that while he was asleep, Echoes evolved rapidly from ACT4 to ACT50, with ACT50's ability being that it can wake up people who are groaning from nightmares. Echoes ACT50 draws a diagram of ACT4 on the ground, which looks like a crab. The Stand then explains that ACT4 gained the ability to accelerate its own evolution, causing a chain reaction of transformations through numerous bizarre and increasingly ineffective forms. ACT10 had the same powers as Star Platinum, yet looked like a fried shrimp. Koichi is excited to try stopping time, only to learn that he can't summon ACT10; ACT50's second ability was to erase all previous ACTs of Echoes. Unamused, Koichi asks ACT50 to wake him up from the nightmare, only to learn that it isn't a dream.
Echoes begins acting like a live-in grandfather, requesting dinner, having a bath together, and offering to tell stories when they're sleeping together. To Koichi's horror, Echoes ACT50 also has a third ability called "Constant Presence," which prevents Koichi from unsummoning it.
Koichi then wakes up in his room and realizes it was really just a bad dream, relieved seeing he can still summon Echoes ACT1. He wonders if Josuke Higashikata would laugh if he told him about the dream and jokingly tries summoning ACT4 again. Surprisingly, ACT4 really appears. When ACT4 starts rapidly evolving again, he realizes the nightmare might have been a prophecy. Echoes quickly jumps to bizarre new ACTs. ACT5 is an octopus, ACT6 is a dragon, ACT7 is a kokeshi doll, ACT8 is a shoe, ACT9 is a dinosaur, ACT10 is a fried shrimp, ACT11 is a snail, and it eventually returns as ACT50. ACT50 tells Koichi that if he naps for too long during the day, then he won't be able to sleep at night.
The cycle repeats as Koichi is once again woken up by someone on the park bench, though Echoes isn't beside him. Koichi tries summoning ACT4 again but nothing happens. However, the diagrams of ACT4 and ACT10 on the ground are still there, suggesting that the dream may be unending. Koichi thinks about it for a bit, but then stops thinking.
