Stardust Crusaders - Chapter 23 [136]

Yellow Temperance, Part 1 (黄の節制(イエローテンパランス) その①, Ierō Tenparansu Sono 1), originally Ominous Images (不吉な映像, Fukitsu na Eizō) in the WSJ release, is the twenty-third chapter of Stardust Crusaders and the one hundred thirty-sixth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.

Summary

Joseph reasons that if DIO is aware of his and Jotaro's actions because of having Jonathan's body, he can do the same to DIO. Avdol offers to get a camera, but Joseph says it isn't necessary, as he can use televisions as well. By rapidly changing channels with Hermit Purple, Joseph can sync up their speech to hear something he wants to know. Rather than seeing things with a camera, he can listen to the voices on the TV. Avdol and Joseph are surprised, however, by the message Hermit Purple gives them: "Among us there's a traitor: Noriaki Kakyoin. Be careful, he's DIO's agent." DIO senses his mind being read and interrupts it, destroying the TV. Although they don't fully believe it, both become suspicious of their ally.

Meanwhile, Jotaro, Kakyoin and the runaway girl are buying train tickets to India. They decide to buy coconuts, but Kakyoin's wallet is stolen by a pickpocket. Angry, Kakyoin stops him with Hierophant Green and brutally beats up the thief while insulting him harshly. Anne is impressed by his attitude, but Jotaro scolds Kakyoin for almost killing the thief and interrupts the attack. Kakyoin justifies his actions by saying the pickpocket was a bad man for stealing and needed to be punished.
